This may be old news to some of you. ArtistDirect interviewed Chester and asked this, I honestly wouldn't mind another DBS album, I liked Out of Ashes But on another note, I would also love another Fort Minor album! Maybe if there will be another DBS album, Fort Minor will make another?
Well, Mike has said in the 1Live conference, that he doesn't need Fort Minor anymore, so I think it's safe to say that is out of the question. As for Dead By Sunrise, I don't have a clue. I think that was just an album to get somethings off of his chest, so that he could get them out of the way, which is why we don't really have any whiny lyrics in A Thousand Suns.
I loved "The Rising Tied" and "Out of Ashes". If both ever do make another album I will absolutely be ecstatic, the idea of it is really amazing. But like what Mike said about not needing Fort Minor, then yeah it's out of the question, but Dead by Sunrise...it's possible, but we have to wait and see what will happen
Successful or not, I felt the whole thing was really sub-par. Music, lyrics and all. Chester's written a song for his children on this new Linkin Park album, and Linkin Park's sound is now more diverse than ever so I doubt a side-project will be necessary any time soon. As for Fort Minor, Shinoda's pretty adqeuately showing off his hip-hop roots on this new Linkin Park stuff -- but Fort Minor is also special for its guests so I definitely wouldn't mind if it were rezzed for some mad collaborations ...
I didn't really enjoy Dead By Sunrise as much as I did Fort Minor. I don't know why I just never grew into them.
The thing with FM that intrigues me is that whenever Mike is asked about FM, he never outright says "FM is done forever." It at least means he thinks that it's possible for his mind to change.
The issue isn't with him as much as it is getting Ryu and Tak back into the SOB (and, subsequently, FM) thing. Especially Tak.
I suppose that's true. I personally could go without SOB though. Either Mike can go solo/bring in a bunch of guests or have someone fill SOB's shoes.
I'd like to see another DBS record but I'd want more songs like In The Darkness, Walking in Circles and Give Me Your Name and an overall less commercial sounding record. Also, I though Out Of Ashes was, in general, increadbily weak (obviously with a few exceptions) so that would certainly have to be corrected.
Seconded. At least with The Rising Tied there was a lot of variety and different sounds throughout the album and songs; everything sounds very similar in Out of Ashes and even then not all that great. If you're humming it throughout the day, it's pretty good, but if you hum it throughout the week randomly when you're bored, it's great; that was the majority of The Rising Tied, and only Let Down, MAYBE Into You, off Out of Ashes.
I still don't get how it's not liked around here. I thought some of the stuff was better than Grey Daze work.
I'm not sure why people don't talk about Crawl Back In more. I really like that song. Let Down is pretty great too. And the rest of the songs are still decent, some subpar but still okay...
People don't like it because most of it was boring and average to a degree that would've been mindblowing if it wasn't so boring and average.
What's this? SOMETHING NEGATIVE ABOUT MY BAND? I will have none of this. TAKE THAT BACK. CHESTER <33333333333333333333 Yeah, I can't argue with that. Other than Crawl Back In and maybe Let Down, nothing was all that ground breaking. Even those two songs aren't ground breaking, but I still love em for some reason.
