What song do you think is the most creative FOR LINKIN PARK off of A Thousand Suns? What about the least creative? With each song state you reasons why. Interludes do not count (SAT question much?) Most Creative: When They Come For Me - the tribal drums, heavy electronics, crazy rap verses, the singing, the marchsinging and chanting, you name it, this song is the most creative and abstruse from their collection. Linkin Park has never done a song like this before, and I don't think they ever will again. It's a special one. Least Creative: Wretches and Kings - although the lyrics stepped it up a notch, and the addition of a political speech gave this song a new flair, it sounds like the old Linkin Park. Electric guitars, rapping verses, singing choruses, Joe Hahn scratching solo, this song basically pays homage to their old style and that is why it is the least creative.
Most: The Catalyst (but in close second is WTCFM) Least: Iridescent Wretches and Kings has the rap/raggae thing going which gives it some uniqueness. Iridescent has great lyrics but the only thing that makes it different from the past is gang vocals.
The Catalyst comes second in my opinion. Although it is just as abstract as WTCFM, I can see another song like The Catalyst down the line unlike WTCFM.
Yeah, Iridescent is the least creative imo. It's a great song, but not a lot of innovative instrumentation went into it. I find Blackout to be their most creative, having a fast paced first verse, a remixed version of that, and then a softer verse, which is kind of another song, but yet still ties into all of the other versions.
Blackout or Waiting for the End I would have to say are their most creative. Iridescent their least, because, it is.
Wretches & Kings is least. I don't know about most. I want to say WFTE because that's my favourite thing on there anyway.
I'd say Blackout and The Catalyst are the most original, at least speaking in terms of arrangements. A couple of the interludes are pretty original for them too, Jornada Del Muerto is mostly in 9/8 time (in addition to being sung in Japanese) and Wisdom, Justice, and Love is in 5/4. Iridescent is easily the least original, it's the only track on the CD that honestly sounds like it'd be at home on Minutes to Midnight to me. One of my favorite songs on the CD, but probably the "safest" track as well.
When They Come For Me and The Catalyst are the most creative ones. Burning In The Skies and Iridescent the least.
Most creative: I think WTCFM, The Catalyst and Blackout all three are diverse as fuck. But I'd probably have to go with WTCFM. Honestly haven't heard a mash-up of genres like this before. Influences from this track ranges from tribal drums, bhangra, middle eastern music, electronic to alternative rock. It's just mad diverse. Gotta give the LP props for pulling this one off. Least creative: Agree with what Astat said. From first look I probably would've chosen Robot Boy, but I gotta go with Iridescent. LP played it safe with this one.. easily could've been a track from MTM.
I chose When They Come For Me for a reason. You haven't and most likely will never hear another electronic/tribal/rap/rock/oriental song from them again. We will probably get a song similar to Blackout and The Catalyst.
I gotta say that if you think Wretches and Kings is creative, the whole thing is is late 80s hip-hop. Even the chorus. You guys gotta add The Messenger for least creative also. I'm gonna put The Catalyst as most creative
