Rob does, like, these massive harmonies all on his own and I'd assume that's a harmoniser of some kind but it doesn't sound unnatural at all. :x Either the harmoniser is, like, flawlessly good or Rob's triggering pre-recorded harmony vox parts.
Why do they have an MC during live shows? That is so cheesy and just brings everything down a notch. I got tickets for the LP concert Jan. 28th, so hopefully the MC is sick that day or something when Pendulum opens for them.
I'll admit, Ben "The Verse" can be a little annoying, but there are times when he's really on form. During their DJ sets in particular he can really get a crowd going but for the most part he's more of hype-man.
I'm aware. He triggers them via that controller and I'm assuming what he triggers in that case is some sort of software harmoniser for the harmony parts that no-one else is singing ... like at 3:02 and 4:24 in this video, where no-one but Rob is singing and you can hear two or more distinct vox melodies. I'm guessing he pitch-shifts his voice in real-time to create a harmony part.
It's a fact he uses some kind of pitch correcting software (on the intro of watercolour, you can hear some unnatural note changes on the vocals), and harmonizers as well. Still, pendulum is my second favorite band. They're amazing. It's a dream come true that I can see them and linkin park at the same concert. It'll be also my first concert to go to. It'll be fucking memorable lawl
It appears that Immersion is going to be available on iTunes US soon, and is now available for pre-order.
So I've just gotten into this band, and hot damn they've got some awesome stuff. Favorites after a few days would have to be The Tempest, Witchcraft, Blood Sugar, Propane Nightmares, The Island (both parts), Slam, and Hold Your Colour. Favorite album as of now is In Silico. Really wish I discovered them sooner.
Yeah, they are definitely climbing up my favorite artist ladder by storm after Immersion. I've been going on a Pendulum trip for the past hour, and I don't see me stopping for awhile tonight
Pendulum played a new song live (unsure what the date of the show was at the current time, and unsure of the title) which you can watch on youtube here. i like the sound of it, i'd honestly need a studio version of be able to tell completely if its good
apparently this new song is only a "live" song in the way that it actually hasn't been recorded (and if it has, it hasnt been released).
My ears have been thankful for finally finding out about Pendulum. My favorites have to be (all of my favorites from Immersion, but because I still need to listen to In Silico) Watercolour, Witchcraft, Set Me On Fire, Immunize (with Liam from The Prodigy! ), The Island, and my number one being Comprachicos.
