LP in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament

Thanks you SO much Derek! See I posted this knowing bands like Paramore, 30STM and many other bands would be competing for this award. And since there's so many loyal LP fans here, I had to make sue everyone knew about this. And a post about LP competing against that idiotic band paramore, it would be a great help. But honostly, I think Linkin Park has a bigger, better, and more loyal fanbase compared to paramore. So thanks!

And btw, in paramore all everyone knows that hailey williams is the face of paramore but with Linkin Park, you have Mike, Chester, and Joe (who are more active and more well known than Brad, Phi or Rob. But it's mostly because they've either, spoken on television, accepted awards, or done things with magazines(Chester), or directed music videos(Joe), and TV, art, and a lot of interviews(Mike). So LP is more focused as a band than paramore being only looked at as only 1 chick.

Everyone relax. LP is winning by 10%. It's statistically impossible for Paramore to come back assuming the poll has been up for a long while.

Ah, but if you were in AP Statistics, you would know the proporties of samples from a population .

Now, if this just went up or something, than I can't be sure. But assuming this has been up all day, LP's in the clear.

 

That's because there was more variability since the sample size (number of votes) was smaller when the poll opened up. But when the sample size get's larger, variability decreases. It's like how flipping a coin many times will not be evenly distributed until you flip it many, many times. If LP were only winning by a few points, it'd be a different story. But getting back 10% at this point is extremely unlikely for Paramore. And 3 months is pretty long time if you ask me. This is BASIC statistics.

I have no idea why I'm being such a statistical nerd at the moment. Maybe because I have stats homework that I should be doing but would rather be applying stats to the LPA

I still don't care about this whole thing, but it is strange how close this is.

I think this proves how bad the fan base is. Linkin Park has almost twice as many fans on Facebook as Paramore.

 

Most of them are probably pre-ATS fans too lazy to 'unlike' them
