"White Limo" kicks 10,000 kinds of ass. Foo Fighters in full-on rock mode (a la "Monkey Wrench" and "All My Life") beat the piss out of any shitty post-grunge, radio-rock travesty.
Final Verdict: Bridge Burning, Dear Rosemary, Arlandria, I Should Have Known, and Walk are great. The rest is meh or just bad.
For a while they were at their best when they were closer to one extreme or the other, either stuff like The Pretender or White Limo or stuff like the second disc of In Your Honour. I think they've found a happy medium here though.
Foo Fighters are on Saturday Night Live tonight! I'll be watching. I really want to see Arlandria or Walk.
This is how I feel. White Limo vocals...WTF lol. Rope is meh, I like the ending but the rest of the CD is great! Very impressed with it. Favorite songs are Arlandria and Dear Rosemary. I Should Have Known is also pretty solid. I caught the Back & Forth Documentary in theaters recently and it is really good so if you haven't seen that, be sure to check it out. Seeing Foo in late May...I like how they play the entire new album in their setlists now lol
In case you didn't know: Stream of an almost-2 hour concert from the Ed Sullivan Theatre, including a front-to-back playthrough of Wasting Light.
Dont like the new album and WTF is Rope. Its terrible. No offence. And Btw its not the only song that i have listened to of the album. I've listened to all of it.
Your argument is invalid; you're named after a song from Meteora. To be serious though, I love the album. Reminds me of a re-energized 90s rock band. Which it is. With the trifecta that is Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and Taylor Hawkins, you've got a bonafide throwback to the best of what the 90s had to offer, and by Grohl, it's full of win.
For those of you interested, you can download the song "I Should Have Known" on Amazon for free for a limited time. http://www.amazon.com/Wasting-Light..._shvl_album_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1302804784&sr=301-2
Wow what an odd bunch? ^^^ Anyway, I'm on like the 3rd listen now & I can safely say that "Wasting Light" is a great album. Though I probably still rate TC&TS as there best, though this is still stella. Best songs: Bridges burning, White Limo & Miss the misery. Although I have to say, putting out White Limo first gave the impression that this album would be extremely heavy. I guess its like the "qwerty" curse. But either way, WL is a great record.
He looks a lot stranger there to me. These days he looks more or less how I would expect a guy who was in a punk band a few decades ago to look.
This is one of the first straight up rock albums I've enjoyed in a long time. Buy it, and pump it. Then tell me you don't get a kick, this is awesome!
Or rather, Dev Patel looks like a young Pat Smear. If there wasn't already a biopic about the Germs, I'd say he's a shoe-in.
Ha ha nicely spotted. I also find it satisfying that after all these years, Pat's rejoined the Foo's. The 3 guitar lineup is awesome! I can't wait to see the guys in July @ Milton Keynes!
