I was just wondering today what could possibly be the most Linkin Park under-rated album? I came to an conclusion that it could either be "Reanimation" or "Minutes to Midnight"! What are your thoughts?!
Based on what I've observed so far, and upon mainstream attention; Reanimation and A Thousand Suns are the most underrated of the band's discography.
Among us hardxcore Linkin Park fans, I'd say the same; otherwise, the most underrated albums would definitely be "Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns". I kind of stopped listening to "Midnight" since I felt it was pretty, um, boring compared to "A Thousand Suns", but it was obviously an important stepping stone for the band (like pretty much everything they've done to date). "Reanimation", meanwhile, is among my top favourite Linkin Park albums, along with "A Thousand Suns".
Reanimation and ATS with all the teenie-bopper fans for sure. The best two albums they've released and they were probably the least popular. On a side note, the most overrated album by Linkin Park is Meteora.
Minutes to Midnight. It doesn't get the credit it deserves. IMHO it showed a band retaining the elements of their original work, but pushing their boundaries, and not an attempt to forge a new identity (as some might allege). It was a turning point in the bands career. And in my opinion, for the better. Away from the terrible cliches of modern hard rock into the new and original sound of "A Thousand Suns". I remember someone on another thread calling it a "transitory record", to which I agree.
This! Fans bitched so hard about this album. Severely under appreciated. I still listen to it. I wish my name was bubbles...
