I'm actually a pimp, but you've had a streak of being close to the mark, yet still inaccurate so I'll let it slide.

Scraping up the remains of the topic, when they say there's not much noises going on, and it will polarize people, It makes me start to think that Album 5 will sound like the songs on Kid A a lot more. Songs like How To Disappear Completely and Motion Picture Soundtrack.

I think ATS is already analogous to Kid A in that both polarized fans. And while I'd like the new album to be akin to Hail To The Thief, I don't want to be able to compare stylistic evolution of both the bands. Then it gets boring.

Further analysis can be posted if you aren't understanding what I'm trying to say.

I actually see Linkin Park's career/music going the way of Radiohead to be perfectly honest. Radiohead were a band that started out very rock, but became more experimental/electronic and even progressive as their career went on. Linkin Park seem to be heading in that same direction, and even kinda sounded a bit like Radiohead on Issho Ni. I'm excited for the future.

The only way this could be more '80s is if it was Simon Le Bon.

<~ Not really a fan of Radiohead. I think we should let Linkin Park's music speak for itself. I don't think of their tracks as Experimental/Electronic, progressive or rock or rap, I think of it as "Linkin Park."

I listened to "Kid A" for the first time after hearing "Issho Ni." There are some similarities, but I like "Issho Ni." "Kid A" I couldn't get into.

I'm not comparing their SOUNDS to Kid A. I'm looking at their stylistic evolution. Or stylistic creationism, if you prefer.

Kid A was a left-field departure in sound for the band, hinted at by OK Computer.
ATS was a left-field departure in sound for the band, hinted at by Minutes To Midnight.

Were LP to be following the Radiohead route, their next album would be Hail To The Thief, which would be a slight callback to their old sound with mixes of sounds from all their other albums. Don't know if that's what I'd want, but you never know.

Or they could pull an "Amnesiac" which would be ATS part2. But of course LP wouldn't do that surely?

But yes, a Hail to the Thief-type album would be very welcome. the Electro experimentation of ATS mixed with the harder & rawer sound of HT & MTM would be epic.

Absolutely agree, excited for the future too. Just as long as their songs always stay in that special place, where you can feel each band member in the tracks.
    - Even if they aren't doing something recognizable.
