Moving apart from the drug discussion...I found this interview to be one of the most informative the band has ever released. Just knowing the emotions they went through writing ATS and during Hybrid Theory was awesome. I hope they keep being open like this.

You should have gone with "That's what your mother says too."

Read the black text in the post you quoted. You're welcome.

Wait... There was more to read? I thought we just got the explanation for all the crazy shit that went on during the "In The End" music video.

Seriously though, very good read. I agree that is by far one of the best interviews in a while. Can't wait to see the next stage of music that will come with the next album.

Does anybody else get the feeling that the next album might be one of the most "organic" feeling albums that they've released since Hybrid Theory? They just seem to be in such a better place now than they were even two years ago. This is exciting.

I was thinking the same thing when me and a couple of friends were taking about what to expect with the next album. Indeed, its very exciting and I hope we hear more about it in the next few months.

I wish I had friends that I could talk to about the next Linkin Park album.

instead of my roommate just screaming ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE whenever I mention this place.

Shockingly honest interview. But I´m a person who thinks that living in the past isn´t worth it. Learning from the past is much better, so I don´t really care about the drug theme in this article.
I´m really excited about the next album but at the moment I can´t figure out what it´ll be like. Only time can tell...and apparently time seems to be a very important thing for LP.

I didn't see that coming that all the band use to smoke, I thought half of them just started. I have always thought brad(just by looking at him) and chester were the ones blowing trees. Mike seems as if he was smoking during the ats era. I saw a video on YouTube where mike was hanging out with like the fort minor guys and was sitting on a couch looking high as shit, just laughing and his eyes being so shut

You know your band has a squeaky clean image when the implication that you might have kinda sorta maybe one time smoked a joint or drank a beer is a shock to people. :p

During the ATS era? I don´t know, but I can´t imagine that they still smoke nowadays. They have family and are grown ups (not saying that they were not grown ups at the beginning of LP). I don´t really know what´s it like in America, but for me smoking pot isn´t that widespread (although I know some people who used to smoke)

Smoking in the U.S I would say is no big deal, I have smoked with several parents that I thought would have never smoked weed. It's unbelievable to see how many do. I have seen dads just walk into a backyard(I was scared because I thought he was gonna freak out with kids smoking at his house) and just rip a bong say what's up and go back inside. If linkin park came out and said we all smoke weed it would be no surprise
