Linkin Park always talk about progression of sound and stuff....I really want to hear a fully realised Pheonix (and Rob for that matter) on the next album. Hitting a root note on 1 (IN EVERY SONG) is the lamest thing ever.

Scott Koziol. He was the band's stand-in bassist at the time.

The problem with having six guys in a band is that you can't give just anyone of them the spotlight, because there are so many people. The vocalists automatically get more attention because people have a tendency to remember melodies over harmonies and accompaniments. Mike is basically the bands producer, with Rubin giving insight from the perspective of a person who hasn't been listening to the same track 70 times in the last day.

As far as Phoenix's bass goes...he's fucking great, just like Brad is with guitar, and Rob is with drums, but they choose not to show off and make good cohesive music together. Brad just recently started solos on albums, Rob does amazing solos live, and Phoenix has done some really good stuff with the Snax, but maybe it just doesn't fit with the band?

Phoenix actually dislikes Easier to Run. That's why they don't play it live. I think Chester doesn't like the song too. I think it's really a good song.
And dude can kinda sing yeah! I would love to hear him sing in the next album!

I like his bass playing in Paparcut especially towards the end.

Unlikely. Phoenix said recently that he doesn't consider himself a very 'technical' bass player, and Rob also said he kinda hated doing the solos live and only did them because his band members wanted him to. Same with Brad, he had to be pushed to do solos because he never liked showing off.

It's funny really, Linkin Park are a band full of very modest people who don't like to show off.

What's funny is that they're a band of modest individuals who push band-members to show off
