Instead of making seperate threads about the new record, here's this only official new album page. Share your thoughts and expectations about anything related to the new record here, so we wouldn't have bazillions of threads about the album.
Funny that you say this, actually, because there's already at least one thread in this sub-forum dedicated to discussing the upcoming Linkin Park album. ;P
It's: Forum: Linkin Park Chat All talk relating to the band and their music; not: All talk relating to the upcoming fifth studio album.
Not what I was trying to say but I was wrong just the same ;D - there's a thread about release date speculation, not a general all 'round "new album" one.
I don't know, if contributors and/or administrators think this thread is unnecessary, they should delete it.
We have THIS thread speculating the new album/single release date. There was THIS thread which was made a long time ago and is outdated now that we have all the new information about the 5th album. So feel free to continue the new album discussion in this thread.
i am so thrilled knowing the fact that there is going to be more guitars in the new album... i am so excited cause in my opinion brad is the most creative guitarist i have heard play. so i am really keen to know how the guitar is going to sound.
I personally want more songs like Waiting For The End. Not necessarily sound wise, but with the same quality songwriting. That song is one of the strongest tracks they've ever written.
I love the melodies in that song. I remember when it first came out, you and I both recognized the very Paul McCartney-esque "sitting in an empty room" influence. Then Chester said in an interview that they had him in mind when they did some of the melodies in WFTE. high five bro.
Linkin Park are one of the few rock bands I know today who can take a generic song structure and make it sound like something people have never heard before. What's incredible is how WFTE follows the Hybrid Theory song structure exactly (Intro > Verse > Chorus > Verse > Bridge > Chorus > Outro), yet it sounds nothing like anything they did before that point in their career. Chester and Mike may not be no Lennon/McCartney but they're probably one of the best songwriting duos in rock music right now. They feed off of eachother's strengths and weaknesses perfectly.
I really don't have any specific hopes for this album. To be honest, my expectations are relatively low.
