Absolutely. But there's a difference between saying "I am sad and angry" vs "I have this fear that when I die, my life will not have mattered, and I want to make a difference."

That's the difference between a song like Crawling and a song like Leave Out All The Rest. LOATR is more expressive and better articulated.

Indeed, and that shows the band members dealing with growing up and their concerns changing. More mature lyrics from a more mature band. :)

On Mike Shinoda's Facebook, he watched a video on "viddy." I watched it and it is an 8 second clip of what I assume to be the new song. Watch here: http://www.viddy.com/video/1c576ac2-afa2-4f92-8074-5fbcee5a688e#_=_ If that doesnt work, go to his facebook, go to the app Viddy and look at where it says: "Mike watched On Track on Viddy." Click on On Track. I'm gonna post this in multiple threads so you all see this. It sounds amazing.

"Ahh I hate you so much right now" comes to mind, from the Crawling demo. Granted, it was a demo, but the fact remains that it wasn't particularly imaginative. The Robot Boy alternate mix had solid lyrics, however.

    I didn't like robot boy's alternate vocals

The lyrics or the vocals? I didn't prefer the alternate lyrics to the studio lyrics, but they're better in comparison to Crawling's demo lyrics.

I don't know if you can compare the two versions of "Robot Boy" in terms of vocal performances. I feel they're identical in that respect. :)

That's what I thought, which is why I wasn't sure if they meant the vocals or not. If there were any differences between the two then I certainly didn't catch it.

"I hate you so much right now" was a joke. It was the chorus of the then popular song "Caught Out There" by Kelis.

I gotta say, I really cringed at the alternate Robot Boy lyrics.

8 years and I never realized it was a joke about that. Must be pretty obscure.

The song wasn't a monster hit like "Teenage Girl" or anything like that, but it did have some heavy rotation on MTV in the late 90s early 2000s.

Ah, then I wouldn't have heard it. I was a late-bloomer with music, didn't even start listening to LP until 2005-ish.

Yeah, but Crawling is about meth addiction and LOATR isn't.
