Mike Shinoda surprised fans with an impromptu LPU Video Chat today in the late / early hours of April 14th. Although brief, Mike went into a little detail about what fans can expect in the coming days surrounding the new album.

- Mike teased fans about already knowing the album title, referring to the heavily speculated "LIVING THINGS" name that is circulating the Linkin Park community.

mike: And you haven't seen the cover.
mike: And you don't know the release date(s)
mike: That image you saw for Burn It Down is the single cover.
mike: Tour announcements: Monday.

- Mike confirms tour announcements will be coming this Monday.

mike: (Many) album release dates: Monday.
mike: BURN IT DOWN: Monday!
mike: Some places are even going to start going on presale (the album) on Monday.
mike: Not everywhere though.
mike: I have no more info!
mike: Deluxe - I don't know yet

- Mike also goes on to say we can expect the album preorder information on Monday, along with the album becoming available in some online and retail stores too.

- Mike says that Linkin Park have two scheduled appearances on Loveline, one being Monday, the other not announced yet. He also praises the SPIN article on the new album, saying it was "on-point"

No, thank you! I was actually in there myself but didn't put what he was saying down, thanks for the summary! Yeah, he seemed really positive and happy to be there. In fact, that's how all the guys seem in the build to this new album.

 

I hope that translates live when they're playing shows for this run.

Not that I can recall. In the past they took it slow, they would wine us and dine us occasionally, eventually leading up to that big day. With this album cycle they're just fucking us in the face from day one.
