    Nope.

The only elements they're going to use from the OLD LP is that they're going to be 12 "compact" songs. When they say return all they mean is that it won't be put together and as experimental as A Thousand Suns. I predict the return of big choruses and LESS experimental songs like " Valentines day" "blackout" " robot boy" " in between" " little things give you away".

Honestly Mike and LP are just trolling at the end of the day. The marketing plan is to say it's a blend of everything and "returning" to their roots, but just listen to Burn it Down. Sure it has that big chorus and it's your typical 3 min LP song, but that's the jist of returning their roots. Less- Catalyst, more What've Done/radio/live friendly record.

If anything this is the experimental/transitional record they should have made right after Meteora.

I think, what mike was trying to say is, that they are using the nu-metal elements in their new way of writing songs. But I think by looking on Burn It Down, you could be right either.

I'm glad Mike is stating that it is not a nu-metal album. The iTunes description had me worried.

Yeah, I'm glad I posted this because despite the fact that the band has already clarified this, it seems that the Nu Metal label is still being attached to this album. At this rate, I'm not sure the words Nu Metal and Linkin Park will ever not be used in the same sentence outside the LPA .

I think a lot of people are gonna be disappointed in this album (big fucking shocker there, right?) because they're assuming they're going back to nu-metal. Not actually taking the time to read interviews and what not. All I know is if I liked A Thousand Suns, pretty much anything can sound good. As in my eyes ATS was their weakest album. But I still loved it.

So there not going back to their nu metal sound but ARE going back to there roots? I'm confused.

Also what touring in Europe? Is it really going to be as short as they say?

    iTunes is so stupid. :|

I think it's going to sound like Minutes To Midnight because that wasn't really "nu metal" but it wasn't really like A Thousand Suns experimental-ness. :p

Oooooooo. That is a very nice way of looking at it. It's like a wish machine found a wish bubble from 2002 and made decided to make it some true.

And now everytime someone says toolbox, i shall envision a euphemism. This is all your fault.

I didn't read it at all because I rather wait, listen and judge it myself than start building expectations from articles I read.
