And that's why I prefer the Internet way. I prefer listening to the new music alone because my friends would obviously go jackass and being like "this is shit. Let's get drunk/play fifa" (I'm a little bit exagerating maybe lol).
I usually enjoy listening to new albums and songs by myself as well, at least when it comes to LP. I'm running out of friends that share similar musical interests.
And that's why it makes sense to hear the album with friends with similar interests........ who are here, on the the internet, listening to the leak. I would say that nowadays the leak is the big social event, if we're making an album release a big deal. If I held out like I had many times previously, I would get a lonesome listen to the CD by myself, it would be less social than the leak. I'm all for people who love looking at the booklet, and often times I skip the leak to get the CD-quality-on-speakers feel, I just think that this challenge is actually making a bigger argument for listening to the leak than it is for holding out. It's an admirable attempt at nostalgia, but I think it's not going to work for anyone under 25.
I'm just a little curious. Am I the only one who got A Thousand Suns in the mail a day before it was actually released here in the states?
Love this idea SOOO MUCH! Again LP have managed to get their fans excited and connected! It gives me a feeling of beeing cose to the band!
Nope! I got ATS a day early too. In fact, I've always gotten LP's albums early when I preordered them... Got Meteora a day early, and MTM 3 days early!
Once again they found the way to connect all the fans! Well, for myself I would like to do that, with friends and all but none of my friends likes LP so it woul be really bad! lol
Haha, for doing so well I think you should treat yourself to LIES GREED MISERY haha just kidding, don't want to spoil it for you
Sorry but if you are going to give a download link, dont link to youtube. Anyway, album hits 19th June. Leak probably on the 12th, Woo
Well, when Minutes To Midnight came out, I was hoping to have it arrive on the weekend (as it was posted on a Thursday) but unfortunately, it arrived on a Monday and I was at College at the time. I remember listening to Bleed It Out only and had to wait until College finished to finally hear the entire album. With A Thousand Suns, again, it arrived on a Monday but fortunately for me, I had the week booked off work so I got to enjoy the album in its entirety all on my own at home. I listened to it once and was so shocked at how different it sounded from their prior albums. I then went to my girlfriends later that evening and played her the album from my iPod and she really enjoyed it. This time, for Living Things, I may be starting work again (can't wait to start working again) on the week it's released, so I'll have to listen to it probably later that day and then I'll do the same, let my girlfriend have a listen afterwards as she's converted to a Linkin Park fan the last few years. I can't wait.
