Use of electronics, specifically synths, does not automatically classify a song as techno. Sandstorm by Darude, which I'm sure the majority of you are getting this idea from, is also not techno. It is technically trance, although it in and of itself is not representative of THAT genre either. For comparison, here's some actual techno: If you see anyone calling these clips techno, please kindly direct them to this page. I will be here most operating hours to assist in informing anyone why these clips, while electronic in nature, are not techno. Thanks.
Correct if I'm wrong Minus/Hybrid/minuteforce, but this is another example of Techno:
What I don't understand is people constantly bitching about the band embracing electronic music when the keyboard and synth loops are the most memorable parts. Think about it, how many guitar riffs have Linkin Park written that are actually distinctive? That someone could perform in their dorm and have everyone know exactly what song they were playing? Now think of the samples.
One Step Closer Runaway A Place For My Head Don't Stay Hit The Floor Lying From You Faint Given Up Bleed It Out What I've Done No More Sorrow Valentine's Day Burning In The Skies Qwerty A.06 *not all riffs, but guitar parts
These guys are awesome.
Very well, then. One Step Closer A Place For My Head Faint Qwerty Recognizable as fuck... I don't know any (post-Meteora) synth parts that are more recognizable than these riffs
An average person wouldn't know the riff to QWERTY because it was not only never a single, it wasn't even on an album. I'm putting the guitar riff from Faint in dispute because I had a friend play it for me and I couldn't recognize it. Note, he was a damn good guitarist and that was back when I actually thought Meteora was decent. So One Step Closer and A Place for My Head. That's two. Counting only singles, that's one. Compared to the loops from: In the End Crawling Somewhere I Belong Numb Faint Lying from You What I've Done Shadow of the Day Leave Out All the Rest The Catalyst And if we limited it just to ultra-popular and iconic songs that everyone would know, then: In the End Crawling Somewhere I Belong Numb What I've Done
