Bring Me the Horizon is an British metalcore band. They were formed in 2004 by Oliver Sykes. They've released so far 3 studio albums and 1 EP. Here are some songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZl03hHhIgA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgHllOv7fno&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYuqyrS9H4I&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNs1mcT4l-Y PS: I'm not sure if some of you know but BMTH appeared in A Day to Remember's music video "All I Want".
Well, I've only heard "Crucify Me" you've put in the shoutbox the other day, and one more song. I like what I've heard.
No, it's screamo dude. I grew up listening to metalcore and there's a difference between what BMTH are and metalcore bands. Regardless, I only really got in to BMTH in the past year or so. I think they're decent but sometimes their music is just painfully one-dimensional. That said, There Is A Hell... was a pretty awesome album. Their cover of Eyeless is quite literally one of the worst covers I've ever heard though. I told Oli Sykes this when I met him back in 2009, I think he was too wacked up on substance to understand wtf I was saying.
Screamo is a genre coming from the Emocore genre. But BMTH have never played Screamo. It's Metalcore/Deathcore (Debut album).
Bring Me the Horizon is most certainly a metalcore/deathcore band. To call them screamo puts them in the same scene as Hawthorne Heights, and... no. Just no. Anyway, they're awful. I've never liked them and I think Oli is a pretentious douche bag.
Never got the hype behind this band. They really are just awful at what they do, and there are way better bands in the same genre that blow Bring Me The Horizon out of the water.
I bought There Is A Hell... a few days after release and listened to it 5 times a day but after 2 months i started to hate it and broke the cd.
Real metal ie supposed to sound like Satan on a bad day. Real metal is bands like slipknot, slayer, pantera, sepultura, system of a down, cannibal corpse (though I'm not really that into em), etc. Metalcore or whatever you want to call it is just so whiney to me. It just isn't brutal in any way. And that's the point of metal. It's just whiney and repetitive. Although to he fair any kind of metal can get rather repetitive. But metalcore really does sound like the same thing over and over again. And its just come to be the genre of "metal" to throw itself into the mainstream. It's like the genre anyone can pretend to like. Because it doesn't challenge anything. And in part to Screamo there hasn't been a good true metal to come up since slipknot.
I don't even know where to begin with this. What are you basing it off of, exactly? Listen to Converge, or Botch, or Every Time I Die, or Drowningman, or early Cave In, or Johnny Truant, or Earth Crisis, or Snapcase, or The Dillinger Escape Plan, or Deadguy, or Shai Hulud, or Architects, or Strife, or Integrity, or Coalesce, or... you get the picture. Now tell me with a straight face that pretty much any of those bands are less extreme than Slipknot. I can do basically the same thing with screamo, too, but that's a completely different kind of music and not even a subgenre of metal, so its inclusion in this discussion is moot.
Like I said in the Slipknot thread, Slipknot fail at what they do. They can't play music. Corey can't scream nor singing.
Lmao I'm not even going to waste my time with this. Even if they are just as "extreme" the music and the vocals still suck. Though I've never listened to those bands so I can't be totally sure but its probably safe to assume that they all sound the same as any other Screamo band.
Screamo isn't metal. Metal is supposed to have a brutal instrumental, like Rammstein does. Screamo can be done over a completely electronic background, like Blackout, which is why it isn't metal. I also hate most screamo bands because they sound like a bunch of angry people saying ''raaaahhhh'' on the whole damn album. Btw. Slipknot is one of the worst bands ever to me.
