As much as I despise Nickleback they actually sound dead one live. Even visually and aesthetically its cool show. That's after you put the shitty music aside
I agree with Pidgeon since I've actually seen them live..they sound great haha. Doesn't mean they're not an awful band though.
Taking Back Sunday definitely tops the list of bands I've actually seen live...they were painfully bad. My Chemical Romance is hit or miss...when they're on, they're REALLY on, and when they're off, they're REALLY off. I think the same can be said of Coheed and Cambria. Oh, almost forgot! Anybody remember Crazy Town? They were HYSTERICALLY bad live. I remember seeing a video of them attempting to cover New Noise by Refused a while back...I still think it might be the worst thing I've ever seen.
When I used to go to Warped Tour year after year, I saw a lot of bad bands. Senses Fail was awful (I've heard they're great now), Thrice didn't sound very good at all (I think that's different, too) and bands like Saosin and Underoath – you could tell they were still getting their feet wet, because they sounded like they could be great but weren't quite there yet. The worst band I've ever seen live was A Day to Remember. They were absolute garbage. I respect the fact that they play with such a high energy, but their vocalist's high-energy output absolutely RUINS his vocals, and makes them unwatchable. From Autumn to Ashes was pretty bad live, too. Most punk bands were awful, too. Oh, and Paramore was disgustingly bad live.
I will go with All That Remains. The vocalist performs some monster screams on his albums and on the last two ones he's been including more clean singing. I've only seen him in videos, but you can clearly tell that his live screams song OK, but the clean singing is downright awful. I was going to buy their Live DVD but after I streamed it somewhere I lost my interest.
What makes a band good live is their ability to deliver a performance which is close to the actual studio versions of tracks. For this reason, Limp Bizkit are one of the best live bands around and have a bit of a reputation for it too.
foreigner was good when they stuck to the hits but the new material was pretty bad. And it was like their arrogance ruined the show.
I have to say, when I saw Thrice back in 2007 I thought they were one of the best live bands I've seen. But yeh, I definitely agree with ADTR.
My co worker gave me this thing. Its jimi hendrix and jim morrison. And morrison is so fucked up the only thing you can actually understand is at one point he yells out "fuck her in the ass !" everything else is just gibberish.
I disagree. The band sounded fantastic but because his vocals were basically un-listen-able, I couldn't bear to watch them.
Chris Cornell is bad live. Escape The Fate is horrid live. A Day To Remember sucks live and sucks overall except for 1 song. Chester sounds amazing live all the time at every show. Wtf is wrong with people?
I don't think chester sounds off at all lol. Back in 2001 I remember seeing live performances in MTV and thinking "wow this guy sounds just like the record", I evan cheked out if there was no playback shit going on lol. He still sounds very good live
This is a huge overstatement. Chester is good, great even, but he is most definitely not amazing all the time at every show.
