Just because it mentions god doesn't mean it's bad. The lyrics are creative and have meaning. Better then every lyric on the first two albums

"God bless us everyone" is meant as an expression, and an ironic one in context.

"God bless us / everyone / We're a broken people living / Under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought / It can't be outrun / It can't be outmatched / It can't be outdone."

Its use is much the same as the start of the album, which explains a profane act (nuclear war) by paradoxically linking it to the awe of the sacred (Vishnu). Here, they're again placing nuclear destruction ("symphonies of blinding light") in a divine context. This doesn't mean that LP's advocating for any religion; they're just finding use in religious imagery.

"The Catalyst" is probably one of LP's most laudable and interesting pieces of lyricism. Its lyrics are minimal but evocative, its religious imagery points up the last great source of nuclear warfare (sectarian violence in places like Israel/Palestine, Iraq, and Pakistan), and it ties back to the Oppenheimer quote that opens the album and spurred its creation. It's a dense, smart piece of work, an honorable climax to an ambitious record.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

It's also one of my absolute favorite tracks live. To me, it never sounds bad.

I think a lyrical Interpretation ALWAYS will be a subjective-thing. IMHO.

    EDIT:
    Worse Lyrics: Don't Stay.

    Best Lyrics: The Catalyst.

    I dun don't believe it o.o

Forgotten is amazingly good, especially the rap verses. Is the gripe about the chorus?

In the memory you'll find me eyes burning up
The darkness holding me tightly until the sun rises up

Don't see how this is not good o.o

    In conclusion:

The worst lyrics would have to be from their first two albums

From Hybrid Theory, it would have to be Runaway, it's lyrics and angsty delivery, just makes me cringe
From Meteora, it would be Numb. Too clichéd and simplistic given the theme of the song

Yes, and 9 years ago when Numb was written and released, the large majority of these adults were moody teenagers. It was destined for success.

Pretty much all of Meteora besides Hit The Floor, Nobody's Listening, and Breaking the Habit...One Step Closer is pretty bad too

Also, who said Hands Held High??? Those are some of the best verses Mike has ever delivered

No, back then their majority was still adults, silly. But I do dislike numb, but for this one reason:

"Just one week before the band entered NRG studios to begin recording, the song was conceived. Built around the intro hook, the song came together quickly and almost effortlessly."

That was from the Meteora booklet. So basically I disliked it because they barely put anything into it, and it's still not a very good song.

^HHH sucks imo. Oh yeah i said it, YOU HEAR ME BRO?!?!!? I SAID IT!!!!!
