If you listen to it really close, when Chester & Mike sing the part : "May your love never end,and if you [here] need a friend, there's a seat here alongside [here] me." You can hear a some sort of "click" sound. (2.54 and 3.01 on the official album track, and 2.14-2.20 on the official acapella one). Has anyone else noticed that ? Or I am just going nuts ?
It's been reported that it is haunted where Living Things was recorded. What you are hearing is actually a ghost.
I listened to it at least 10x and I think I know what you mean. It isn't a 'click', it is... I cannot describe it do well, but I think it is his voice. I think nobody will understand me though...
If it's the noise I'm thinking of, it's just a brush of the fingers/pick against a guitar string while it's plugged in the amp. Whoever was playing the guitar track probably did it on accident and then the band decided to leave it in for reasons unknown.
That clicking sound plays from the start. You can hear it during the wind chime part too. It's there for most of the song
It's his voice/mouth making the noise. Condensers mics pic up everything. You can hear your tongue or mouth make all sorts of noises with one. Usually software/hardware can stop any of that from getting through while recording, but not always. They obviously didn't care too much about it.
