Does anyone else get this feeling? I like LT as much as the next guy, and HT is hailed as one of LP's finest moments (being, as it is, our first impression of them), but for some reason ATS is just the album that keeps coming back. It's a solid album experience is what it is; I somehow have not gotten tired of the songs, they're really the sort that live up to that "young kid in Oklahoma" crock from the making of Meteora. ATS simply has never gotten old for me; it has longevity and substance, that's the key, I think. After hearing Robot Boy over a thousand times, I'm still looking forward to hearing it a thousand more times.
No. But I feel like there has already been a ton of threads similar to this one. It's really clear that the majority of the people here think the same way, don't worry.
Well, it displayed their highest level of lyricism, utilized different structures and had the best production values. On the other hand, it ended on an overwrought and hackneyed acoustic ballad.
I still can't really get into ATS. I can listen to it for only a certain amount of time before I get bored or want to flip to the next track. I agree it's a really good album, but nothing will EVER top Hybrid Theory for me. 12 years of HT and I still find myself listening to it and have yet to get bored of it. Maybe one day I'll feel the same about ATS...
I completely agree, in fact Hybrid Theory and Meteora now completely bore me save for 2 or 3 songs total; but really, why do we need so many threads about someone's opinion on an album. At this point, we know exactly who likes what and who hates what, and we could most likely make their arguments for them. It just ends up in pointless bickering and yet another closed thread.
No doubt, hands down. I feel like Castle of Glass could easily fit in there too, its like a waiting for the end part two. Either way, it is their best album so far
Nah, not for me. They get an A for effort, D for execution. I got bored of most of the songs nearly a year ago. I personally don't think of it as such a classic piece of art like many people on this forum do. It was a cool experimental record and I like the fact that they put in effort towards making the songs have a common theme and tying them into a concept album, but the songs themselves are nowhere near classics in my opinion. It is definitely their greatest attempt at song creation and their most ambitious release, but they didn't nail it for me. 2 c e n t z.
