The premise is pretty simple. Ever heard someone say something obnoxious? Something so incredibly douchey and pretentious that has just made you put down your monocle and champagne and think "My word, they really need to get off their high horse"? Well now's your chance to share. It might have been something your friends said, something you overheard or even something you yourself have said before realising how pretentious it sounded. Some context can be provided if needed, but out-of-context quotes somehow seem to make everything funnier so bonus points for that. I'll get us started: "You don't want to do too well in your assessments. Employers might get intimidated and think you're over-qualified for the job" - Dude from my Engineering course
"I don't like hanging around with him, he wears sneakers with jeans" - Female friend talking about her workmate
Is that a bad thing? I need to re-evaluate my life. "You need to dress better for this job, T-Shirt and jeans doesn't work in this part of town." - One of my former workfriends, about a job where we packaged toys, for kids, in a fucking basement.
''Is your a trousers from Hollister, Melis? I am really in love with Joel.'' - One of my classmates (I don't like) PS: Joel is a clasmate too.
Teacher: "Are you not going to take notes?" Dude: "I'm taking notes in my head. Don't worry, I'll wait for the others to write some notes."
"French bread just doesn't have the same texture here. You'd understand what I mean if you had eaten at this little cafe in Lyon I went to last year"
I'm doing that too, kind off. Not taking notes, but I always find good summaries of my lessons on the internet. It's not on a pretentious purpose, it's just lazyness
