That was me. Is there any chance for the band, if it becomes independent, to release the real Meteora that they had written? I think they were going for some really ambient feeling with that album.
MTM would have benefited so much with the inclusion of Bunker, Debris and Asbestos imo. Those songs sounded great. It would have given the album a little more character and energy that it desperately needed. I don't see why the felt the need to include songs like Valentines Day, In Between and Hands Held High. These songs + QWERTY would have made for probably one of my fave LP albums.
Valentine's Day is a great Alternative Rock song with great lyrics, one of my favourite from the album. In Between is a really dark song, it shows Mike's skillz and the lyrics is awesome in this song too. Hands Held High's lyrics is overdramatized but still, the strings and the gang vocals make the song feel like an anthem. I think LP made a good choice when they decided to not to include QWERTY on MTM. Maybe that song is heavy as fuck but the lyrics is almost bad as a lyrics from a Meteora song.
If anyone wants the lyrics, you can get them here EDIT: Sorry, I just saw that there's a thread for this already.
While the Forgotten demo is the same as the other one that we already have, is the mixing of the new POA demo slightly different, am I right? EDIT: For example, Mike raps the verse at 0:50 twice until 1:10 instead of once until 1:00, which also partially explains why the LPU12 demo is 14 seconds longer.
It's really great to wake up and see new LPU CD... Demos are nicely balanced but as someone sad before they're a little bit worse than LPU11 or X Great stuff came out today and I am so happy to listen to some new LP music. Some guys were talking here about comparing Soundtrack and So Far Away... If you play Soundtrack from 0:16 it's the same beat, structure and wery similar chords... It fits one on another (just checked that on some software) so this is the same stuff but used two different times... As usual sorry for my English (just woke up and I need a coffee ^^)
Listening to it right now...it's fucking amazing so far. So glad they gave us that much MTM material this time I'm really happy EDIT: wow, there need to be an Asbestos/Victimized mash-up!
surprise pretty proud of myself for this tbh. im usually pretty shitty with audacity but this turned out really fucking cool. also sorry for it being on my tumblr. i dont have a soundcloud and you know damn well youtube wouldnt let me upload it because of the copyrights and all of that shit. EDIT: also a bit of unnecessary silence at the end that i forgot to clip out oops. EDIT 2: here's a link to my asbestos/victimized mash-up on youtube so you all dont have to deal with my blog youtube hasnt hunted me down for it yet but who knows.
Chester screams matched the chorus as well as I though ! I wouldn't have add Victimized instrumental at the end though, but nice work on the chorus
thanks, dude. i was considering leaving out the end of victimized, but that scream in the last chorus went over too long and as cool as it may have sounded to just end the song off with chester's screaming hanging over, i just felt like i might as well. asbestos and victimized are in the same key anyways lol. but thanks, i appreciate it. :]
Homecoming guitars makes me think a lot of "Catharsis", one of the VMA tracks Mike made back then. I've always wondered if some of those VMAS tracks could have been inspired by LP demos. Especially Catharsis, A.15, and Telectronic, which all had a big LP vibe to me.
