Does anyone feel it is their best song yet. If it's not then it's definitely up there. It's amazing. The lyrics, the harmonies the folk feel. It has something about it that I love. Anyone else feel this way? It's so simple yet brilliant
I was about to bring this theme up. And also like Pidgey, I think it really is up there, but I particularly still have strong feelings with The Catalyst. It's two completely different songs. I've never been good at choosing a favorite LP song but TC is a top track for me. The thing I have with COG, is that it leaves me wanting more, not sure if it was longer it would have been better, but it's still awesome nonetheless. The Catalyst on the other hand is more of a "full experience" for me.
Hm, choosing a single song from an artist and labeling it as their best song....I can't do it Especially with LP, which has performed a lot of different music styles. I don't think we can compare an hip hop song, an hard rock song, an electro song, and an alternative one. You can't compare apples and pears. But anyway, I'd say it's one of my favorite from the LT era. Probably in my top 20 LP songs or so. And maybe my favorite song with Mike as singer.
If the track had not been so condensed, I feel it might have been one of their best. Despite that, it's still a great song.
No, but it's in the top 5. I think this the top 5 (for me at least): 1. The Little Things Give You Away 2. The Catalyst 3. Castle of Glass 4. Robot Boy 5. Waiting For The End
I think Burning In The Skies, The Catalyst and Waiting For The End are better, but it's still top 5. But i have to say one thing: everytime i listen to it i feel like it could have been much better. I don't know if it's the "no 4minutes+ songs on LT" thing or the fact that the album feels a little rushed
Compact songs are not always less good than longer and progressive songs. Short can be more intense and all. However, I'll agree that I would have prefered COG as a longer song, with more to offer.
I can't simply choose one song... It's not so easy... I even stopped ranking them. Only vague. But my answer is 'No'.
As much as I love the song, it feels under developed I think. It's short and simple, which is good for continuous plays, but it lacks a certain substance that could have made it that much better.
In my opinion, I wouldn't say that CoG is their best track. However, I do think it is the best example of them fusing folk with the signature LP sound. In regards to that, I think they have created something truly unique.
