you can not recreate a song unless you created the samples yourself. if you watch the vid, he shows how you add the layers, the samples, and 'construct' the song. the sounds were not created with the software. have you ever made a song in your life before?

Except you know, ATS was real instruments except the "synth and stuff." There were just more "synth and stuff" and they were brought into the foreground.

I somewhat agree with you, but you didn't have to attack Astat here.. He IS a musician, and watching his covers on Youtube had gotten me into guitar playing... ;)

And yeah, samples can be purchased too.. Do you really think every rap/electronic musician records his own samples?

    Can you elaborate on that?

You have a point Astat, but I think most musicians could recreate a track they've made in relatively short period of time. I know I could. The real challenge is in the initial creation of the song, coming up with the ideas for the music. So to me, the statement doesn't really make any difference.

How is it "to each their own"? It's either true or untrue, it's not an opinion. It's not "to each their own" since in this case that argument is completely ridiculous.

It just so happens to be objectively true that Linkin Park used real instruments in the making of A Thousand Suns.

So are you arguing that they didn't use real instruments in ATS? Because that's what it looks like you're doing.

Obviously the drums that were recorded for "When They Come for Me" were virtual. :kappa: And that's not Chester and Mike singing, they computerized the vocals in ProTools, too. MAGIC.

Well, if you think about it we're all just bits of data anyway, and thus ones and zeros, which means that you are correct. Everything in the making of ATS was digital. :kappa:

It's gotta be refreshing to be up stage and perform a song that isn't yours. I mean, artists make a living playing the same songs every single day, and to have the opportunity to play something totally different must be a lot of fun.

Glad they had a great time, and they did an amazing job.
