Life of Pi [5/5] - Wow. I didn't really know what to expect when I started watching this film but on the opposite end, I must say that I'm amazed. First and foremost, it was beautiful; the visuals, the writing, Richard Parker, all of it. I'm not much of a religious person but I loved the deep theme running through the film.

Yeah man, Life is Pi is a really beautiful and underrated movie.

 

Wait, how is it underrated, didn't it get like 11 Oscar nominations?

I guess the better word might have been "underhyped."

Yeah, that's more of what I meant. Underhyped. It's basically just been labeled as "good" but I feel it's a lot more than that. And it didn't win a single thing at the Golden Globes. Alas...

Gone Baby Gone: 9/10

Amazing movie. Ben Affleck's a great director, it's a shame he got snubbed by the Academy for Argo this year. And for this movie in 2008.

 

I am. Some great movies are coming to DVD soon, I can't wait

 

I find it absurd that the UK STILL hasn't got Cloud Atlas in cinemas yet when it came out in the USA more than 3 months ago.
I've already read the script (and probably could have read the book if i went and brought it) cause of all the hype the movie was getting in the US.

What the hell is going on!!?

 

Well, you'll have to wait for one more month. It's gonna be released in the UK on 22nd Feb.

EPIC BADASS MOVIE OF THE YEAR USA 2013 - Releasing 01.01.13 in US; 12.12.13 elsewhere.

 

Even more bizarre considering that the author of the novel it's based on is British. It'd be like a movie based on a Japanese videogame coming out in America first (err shit, I think that may actually have happened once ).

 

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - 5/5

Wow. If you can get over a couple of cheesy lines, this was really great. Subtle but powerful.

 

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters - 8/10

Extremely fun. If you liked 'Hellboy 2: The Golden Army', you'll love this one. Wouldn't mind a sequel to this one.
