Ok guys I'm not saying the performances are BAD, I'm just saying recently they haven't been up to par IMO. I think it has to do with Chester. I think he looks REALLY skinny so maybe he is sick? What do y'all think
As far as I'm concerned, 2010-2012 have been really good years for the band live. I don't think there's anything wrong.
They've basically been on tour non stop since 2010 so that is taking a toll on Chester, but its also because of his over use of screaming, getting older, past drug usage, and smoking. Shame to see Chester fall in terms of live singing
Linkin Park songs are more or less pieced together entirely on a computer, as a result doing them love loses a lot of what made them recognizable in the first place.
Because Chester isn't on drugs anymore? Because LP use mainly electronics now? Mike and Chester feel old because they have kids? They're not as motivated anymore? Who knows.. Brad and Phoenix have been consistent performers through the years though. I saw them at MSG in 2011 then in Camden this past year, and the more recent was a far better show, in my opinion. Long term, I think they've been touring so long and it's no secret that they're no longer in their mid 20's.
Really? When they cam to the Pepsi center they were awesome. Like dead on. Seems like the HCT didn't have that.
Maybe it was the choices in songs, but I thought they were way more excited to be playing in Camden than NYC.
Hopefully this doesn't turn into another "Chester can't sing well live anymore" thread. I think the live performances lately have actually been great. They wanted to bring a lot more energy to their set which they've done (compare the Honda Civic Tour to any ATS show and it's obvious). In fact, I'll take these more recent shows than any show they did in the later part of 2008.
all they need too perform good is rest(on a regular basis) not full blown tours which drain every bit of their energy specially chester because he has pput a lot of efforts while singing and screaming. chester falls sick frequently and the band has to think about that. didnt we see that mike had chester record the victimized screams in the studio when chester was sick. i think they shouldnt have done that. such things will badly affect chester's health.
They definitely aren't getting any younger now are they , But yeah its also the fact they been touring non-stop so hopefully that break they took brings them up to par
They haven't been touring non stop. They've taken regular (and often long) breaks from touring since they started the ATS tour. 2010 - They played mid-Oct through mid-Nov, then 2 weeks in Dec. 2011 - They started Jan 20th & went through to the start of March then took 3 full months off from March to early June. Took nearly 2 months off early July through late August. The tour finished in late September. 2012 - Toured from mid-May to late-June. 6th of August through September 22nd. 1 week in Oct. 5 shows Nov/Dec. They currently have about 9 gigs booked for this year. This is faaaaar from a gruelling schedule.
