I'm with those 2. The first 2 albums have become a punching bag on this site. I still love those albums, so it's hard not to take it personally when every other thread is about why the old shit sucks.

Basically, its boring, repetitive and unimaginative. No it isn't what I enjoyed in my teenage years, because in fact i'm in my teenage years now. They just weren't good at all lyrically back them, but had the occasional time when the actual music was amazing, they were just well um, not very enjoyable. I've never liked old LP, but they still remain my favourite band, you don't have to 'Love all their music' just to be a good fan.

And that's all fine, but we bash it at every fucking opportunity. It's old.

I don't deny any of that. I'm saying that someone insulting an album =/= them insulting you. So there's no need to respond as if they are.

^^ I agree, I don't bash it at every chance I get, but i've been asked on my opinion on it and I gave it, not willingly causing offense to anyone. They're just albums subjective to opinions, we don't insult you if we call an album crap.

Lol it's true I have become really irritated about that collective bashing on HT/Meteora. Obviously, it's not a personnal attack, but it's just annoying, you know?

Sorry, but ask yourself how you'd be reacting if tons of people were always shitting on ATS here. If, in place of those "ATS is SOOOO good" threads, there was a lot of "ATS sucks!" threads. Maybe you'd also be a little irritated.

Btw, I was simply saying I didn't felt that thread. Just a simple opinion of mine.

    Good melodies with bad lyrics.

I've kind of softened my stance on old Linkin Park lately, at least in relation to their last three albums. LP's gotten better throughout the years, but the admiration their later stuff gets by comparison, especially ATS, is something I really don't get. To me, the quality gap between old LP and new LP isn't as big as people make it out to be. Meteora is still bland and derivative, but ATS ain't all that either.

IF we wanted to take this discussion seriously, I would have to say that this empty hate towards those who like Meteora is very unjustified. We're all here because we enjoyed Meteora. In fact, that album was most likely a reason for why we all became big fans of the band. Sure, we realized with the subsequent albums that Linkin Park can be creatively stronger, but it doesn't deny the fact that we enjoyed the music at one time. I agree with Tim, the instrumentals are still elegant from that era and the lyrics are a bit cringe worthy. But you know what, I still listen to the album to reminisce. I enjoy the songs still here and there. I just can't take the listen to the lyrics and take them seriously when I do.
