Just days after our report that Linkin Park were set to release a 2-Disc edition of LIVING THINGS this coming March 22nd in Europe, the track list and DVD contents have made their way online. Judging from the track details, the DVD will feature a live performance of the band's show from June 5th, 2012 where they played the Admiralspalast Theatre in Berlin, Germany as part of Telekom Street Gigs. This show was heavily speculated to make the DVD as it was one of only few pro-shot live events Linkin Park have put on in the past year. The show was also broadcast on both Web & TV, the ProSieben cut version is already partially available in HD, whilst the Telekom web stream version contained the exact same content that will appear on this DVD. The DVD does appear to be missing some tracks from the full performance though, notably the same songs that were absent from the webcast. You can view the full setlist on the LPA Tour Page. The 2-Disc edition will be released March 22nd in Europe and can be pre-ordered on Amazon Germany, still no confirmation on other parts of the world at this time. What are your thoughts on the DVD content and the tracks they chose to omit? Let us know your thoughts and whether or not you'll be picking up the 2-Disc edition of LIVING THINGS on the LPA Forums. I'll be picking It up. Hopefully a Blu Ray version of this show comes out If not the 1080P version will just have to do.
Don't expect a blu-ray any time soon, this set is just like the A Thousand Suns+ CD + DVD album and isn't a fully released retail DVD like Live From Texas or Road to Revolution.
I'd get it almost soley for having a live version of blackout. A little disappointed by the lack of crawling and catalyst but that's meh. We'll see.
A DVD without the Catalyst and Points Of Authority??? Wondering how they made that decision: - Hey, we should release a CD + DVD version of LIVING THINGS. - Okay, so lets put the LP concert of Berlin on the DVD - Sounds good, man. But no extras or surprises? - Hmm, surprises... Well, let's remove some of the best LP songs! - Wow, you're a genious!
But why that performance? Gezz, this is fucking bullshit. No IMR, No LITE, No COG or Victimized. The Monterrey performance is so much better, and it has more songs from LT for fucks sake. I can't understand LP or Warner. This is fucking dissapointing.
It would be smart to release this concert because it is already in a very high quality format, warner isn't stupid to convert another performance when this is clearly both the most upscaled and best performance LP did for 2012 and I hope you people do realize this is the concert that was shown in theatres. This is no different than a theatre to dvd release only LIVING THINGS is on there so warner can sell it and make a bit more money. I personally won't complain. I'm sure they cut out those 4 tracks because a dvd can only contain 4.7GB worth of space unless its a dual layer or blu-ray which they won't invest in because they know they'd lose money, plus this really is the best performance for 2012. Reminds me of the MSG 2011 show. Great stuff.
