So I know we're not there yet, but we're coming up to LT's anniversary and I wanted to know how it's aged for you guys. It hasn't aged very well with me, but I've gotta say, one thing about it has: Lies Greed Misery. When the song first came out, I was kind of digging it, at the same time that it was a little too out there for me. Over the course of the past year, I'd say if any song should be their next single, it should be LGM. It's short, fast, and insanely catchy. It's the one track on the album that I still listen to regularly just because, similar to Bleed It Out, it's just a damn fun song. What're your thoughts?
LIVING THINGS overall, feels like an enjoyable album, but nothing more really. That doesn't mean I love the album, but I can definitely listen to it and still appreciate it. I have similar feelings for LGM. I wouldn't mind it released as a single.
I've listened to it a few times in the last year. If anything I'll just listen to a few songs. But the album as a whole is really uninteresting.
Really good, fun album. And I can't believe it's been 9 months already. Feels like it leaked yesterday...
I really hope this doesn't turn into another Living Things hate thread... I've been listening to the songs less and less but really that only means they're now accepted as a part of the Linkin Park family and thrown into my daily playlist like so many of their other songs. I still tend to search through my playlists regularly for Lost in the Echo and Castle of Glass.
It hasn't aged as well as their other albums for me, but the songs I really like such as Powerless and CoG still get a lot of listens.
I'm starting to slightly enjoy some songs again. But yeah, I don't think this album is aging quite well. Then again, I would say the same thing about everything pre-ATS. ATS is a completely different story since I could still listen to that album from front to back and love the shit out of it.
Kinda poorly on my end of the world. I listen to maybe four songs off and on or so. Disappointing since I had their last two CDs stuck in my player for over a year after they were first released. I DO, however, make sure I dance to Lost in the Echo whenever I'm alone with my stuffed animals.
I only really listen to Victimized, Skin To Bone, or Until It Breaks anymore. However, I do use many of the instrumentals as bumpers/background music for my radio show on campus.
Certainly not like fine wine. The majority of the songs got really boring to me after awhile, and I just can't bring myself to listen to much of the album anymore, with the exception of a few tracks.
Its on my daily playlists. I usually listen to the album all the way through VICTIMIZED then everything else is sorta left behind.
This. I don't hate it, but it hasn't aged well to me. Linkin Park is one of those bands that may never have "that" album because they like so many things. When you have a band say like... MCR, they have a "sound" and will keep pushing for perfection in that sound. Bands like LP and NIN don't have a definite sound so while I enjoyed Living Things, it just got stale to me quickly because its so all over the place. I am waiting for that album where every song is almost perfection. ATS is as close as they gotten to a well thought out and executed album all the way around.
I still only listen to the second half, minus powerless. So I wouldn't say it's aged very well for me.
