You seem to be one of the very few members on this forums who kinda like Old music more than the new. That's same with me tokay LP can experiment whatever they want but not lose the energy that is synonymous to their music. That is one of the main reasons why I like LT more than ATS cause it is not sleepy like the latter though the former is musically shallow.
In addition..... - Since Mike isn't rapping as much, his skills as an MC have greatly decreased, he sounds pretty terrible whenever he raps and begins raising his voice like in Somewhere I Belong when he says "and the fault is my own and the fault is my own". - Mike is a terrible singer, his first verse in VICTIMIZED and CASTLE OF GLASS are really sad. - Chester's live singing is NOTHING compared to his pre-2007 days. - Chester's screaming is very bad now, take Faint's bridge for example, VICTIMIZED, or Given Up's bridge. It is also really sad how he never sings the bridges to some of the songs anymore. I could seriously give less fucks about the crowd singing. - Linkin Park rarely ever sounds good live anymore and they are only great in studio. - Joe is slowly becoming more and more useless to the band. What does he even do live anymore? - Brad needs to go back to Guitar 1 classes so Mike can stop taking the damn spot light from him. - Chester is the only one doing anything on stage. The other boobs are standing in place or sitting playing a keyboard.
Surprised to see how many people listen to Meteora rather than HT. I enjoy them both, but HT is much better, in my opinion.
Faint demo > Faint Rhinestone (Mark Wakefield) > Forgotten Stick 'n' Move (Mark Wakefield) > Runaway Figure.09 demo > Figure.09 Drum Song > TLTGYA, but I love both I often wish Mark Wakefield had stayed in the band. (EDIT: Unrelated, but anyway. I don't want to post anymore because right now my post count looks like an awkward threesome...)
You forgot this thread was called Unpopular Linkin Park Opinions for a reason. (Unrelated edit: Fuck, my awkward threesome post count didn't last long...)
If you DO generalize this fandom and compare it to generalizations of other fandoms, or even the LP fandom a decade ago, the LP fandom doesn't hold a candle. In that sense I agree. We're either nu metal zealots, don't know a single shred of nettiquette, or establishing our fragile egos by putting down other kinds of fans or our own past selves. Enthusiasm is a crime in here.
- A Thousand Suns is their best album. - I prefer Meteora over Hybrid Theory. - It's not too late for Chester if he sees a vocal coach frequently.
I still enjoy myself quite well at their concerts, but when you watch their concerts from live streams or any type of pro footage, you realize how bad they performed. The lightshows seem to distract the audience from how physically active the band seems to be. They need major improvements if they want to be anywhere near their previous potential.
Hybrid Theory hasn't aged well because of songs like OSC, Crawling, and Runaway. But it is still has some of the best songs in the band's history, namely Pushing Me Away and A Place For My Head. Reanimation is a top-3 LP album. Meteora isn't a total waste, the album bore some of the band's best songs: Breaking The Habit, Faint, and my own guilty pleasure: Easier To Run. Minutes To Midnight is perhaps the band's most underrated album. What I've Done is probably my favourite first single from any album.
-If the band had continued in the direction of Hybrid Theory EP, they would have made an album as incredible or (dare I say) even better than A Thousand Suns. -They need a guitarist who isn't afraid to show off. -If Mike's computer crashed, Linkin Park wouldn't exist. They need to keep the mindset they had with Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns.
All I can really say is: -Meteora > HT -They shouldn't stop playing their older hits. Some people, like me, just got to see LP for the first time last year. Why would you play non-singles more when your biggest hits are what got you there in the first place? -Their older lyrics aren't as bad as some make them out to be. - Moar guitar plzz -The Messenger and Robot Boy are boring songs.
Lol I feel like there some good stuff actually being put forward here lol there's been a sort of vocal minority as of late and its nice to see some other opinions being put forward.
That ain't no opinion. That's a fact. I guess that there's more money in merchandising than in actual music.
True, I actually had a conversation with some guys from a pretty big band within extreme metal. They said the money they get from the merch booth is the only thing that gets them through the tour. There is almost no money in the making and selling of music these days. Of course I think we all kind of already know that.
I couldn't agree with these more. "Breaking The Habit" and "Session" are the things that set "Meteora" apart from "Hybrid Theory".
