05.5 | The Grey, 4/5 - The emotional strings that the piano + poem combination stirs is pretty rare for someone like myself. I love the The Grey. It's not necessarily the Liam Neeson factor that makes so awesome, but the factors of survival and an ice cold terrain packed with wolves.

Manhattan (1979) - 2/5 - Despicable and pretentious characters. Nowhere near as enjoyable as Annie Hall imo.

Iron Man 3 (2013) - 2.5/5 - Nowhere near as good as the first Iron Man but much better than Iron Man 2. the twist with the villain was blah!

The Great Gatsby - 4/5 - A terribly disjointed first act gives way to a smooth, proper Baz Luhrmann interpretation of the classic novel.

    Pain & Gain - 6/10

Pain & Gain hits home on several occasions in terms of delivering the message and mentality behind the sport of bodybuilding. Just barely. Unfortunately the rest of the flick is a mess. Pain & Gain is sprinkled with subjectively funny one-liners and quips. However, Michael Bay stumbles in his attempt at presenting black humor. It is a film that has no direction; literally a melting pot of decent ideas that never seem to run the entirety of its course. Just to add insult to injury, prior knowledge to the events the flick is based off of makes this a difficult viewing.

Despite the film's flaws, I thoroughly enjoyed Bar Paly strut her stuff........

Misery (1990) - 4/5 - Intense psychological thriller. Kathy Bates delivered one hell of a performance.

Damn, that's a pretty good photo there.

Keen as fuck to see Pain & Gain, but it doesn't come out for another few centuries here in Australia.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 9/10 - Holy sh*t. I've never been more excited watching a film in years. It has a perfect mix of intimate moments and non-stop action. Oh my god, the action...I can go on and on about how spectacular they are. The acting is really great, too. Zachary Quinto is pretty cool as the nerdy Spock. Benedict Cumberbatch plays one of the scariest villains I've ever seen lately. And Simon Pegg. Even though there's a lot of simple moments, I found it hard to breath. My stomach is acidic right now. Despite me being a die-hard Marvel fan, this movie is better than Iron Man 3, no doubt about it.

Side Effects (2013) - 3.5/5 - It was good but I thought it dragged a bit. Liked Jude Law a lot.

    ParaNorman - 5/5

    Se7en - 5/5

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 2/5. Pretty boring, honestly. Not as exciting as the others and the new characters that they tried to in introduce fail completely and it's kinda impossible to give much of a shit about them.

    Red Dawn - 3/5.

    50/50 - 5/5.

    The Gray (2011) - 8,5/10

The plot felt inconsistent and thin between the end of the beginning and the middle, but once it moved away from the wolves-and-danger-are-everywhere-driven storytelling, it became much less monotone. There are many surprising and thrilling scenes. The characters are very well and deeply characterized, and the film is more than able to move emotionally, with the scene near the ending legitimately making me cry. Great performance from the actors, Neeson especially.

Star Trek: Into Darkness: 4 out of 5

Although it's not as refreshing, nor does it provide anything really new from the first movie, it still holds its own ground with the Kirk/Spock bromance blossoming and Benedict Cumberbatch's acting and crazy reveal.

    Fast & Furious 6: 5 out of 5

Justin Lin takes everything that works with 5 and improves upon it in every possible way: relationships are more mature and feel legitimate, character focus is still balanced, Tej and Roman are even funnier this time, and a Dom & Hobbs vs. Shaw & henchman showdown is too badass. People get annoyed with several sequels only because very few, if any, franchises can go this long and get better each time, but Fast does it.

The Cabin in the Woods - 5/5 Fucking awesome and very smart and original. Loved it.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - 5/5. Classic; has aged very well.
