I know... but I still had to stay awake for another 10 minutes on the train so that answer was too short. Anyway, here's the last to make it up.
I'd be surprised if anyone around here (my country) who isn't a die-hard rock fan would know who Scott Weiland is. In fact, first time I ever heard of the guy was as the frontman for Velvet Revolver and not Stone Temple Pilots, back then when MTV used to play music videos..
Forget about the fact that he's not big outside of English-speaking countries, many of the LP fans here were too young to remember Stone Temple Pilots. I'm in my early 20's and I first heard of Scott Weiland when Chester mentioned him in an interview back in the Hybrid Theory days. He kept talking about how Scott Weiland was god and Shangri-La Dee Da was his favorite album that year. Like what I said in my thread in the LP Chat forum, Chester could've been in a much better position if he was in Velvet Revolver instead. He could still channel Scott Weiland's vibe while still being himself and has the Axl Rose pipes to match up with Slash's GNR riffs. I can understand that STP was more of an adolescent fantasy for him, but it comes with a lot of legacy and a huge fanbase. Velvet Revolver, not so much, but they still have huge players in their team and are a more recent name for the younger crowd who didn't catch STP in their heyday. I just want to hear Chester use his classic rock voice since he's pretty limited in LP, and even though "Out of Time" is getting some buzz, it's getting tainted by all this controversy.
If you spend time getting worked up because of YouTube comments, YouLose. If you are engaging in flame wars via Youtube comments, YouLose.
Honestly who gives a F78k what STP fans have to say, They don't impact on the next LP album, we could careless about their input. Jeesse is right Youlose, if you're involved in all that arguing.
Exactly, all that matters right now is what the next LP album is gonna sound like, thats all i care about, but what i will say if the next LP album is gonna be another album full electronic beats i will lose my find it gets annoying and its played out and i will jump the LP ship and become a Stp fan, cause "Out of time" sounds really dope.
Man, Scott should get off his high horse and instead focus on getting sober and work on his solo carreer. I`ve used to listen to STP back in the 90s, and Velvet Revolver as well. But this is just ridicilous. He`s no longer a Member of STP, so, that means the rest of the Band can and should use the name, even if they have a new Singer. (OT: Did anybody else think of "Ocarina of Time", the first time they read the abbreviation OOT? Or is it just me? )
Wow been away for the weekend and I find this from Scott Weiland and my forum below empty.com closed. Looks like I'll be with you guys for awhile and oh, I care!
I'm not on here to promote STP or be likes STP is the best band bla bla bla. I'm trying to be open to LP as well, as Chester is our new lead singer. So far I have had A Thousand Suns spinning since Thursday and can't get enough of it. Just trying to find a new forum to discuss two bands we should both have mutual interests in.
