From the official NIN twitter: halo twenty eight: hesitation marks. 9.03.13. Gonna be a long 3 months.
"Hesitation marks"? Does that mean the album is titled "..."? Edit: I just googled "hesitation marks." I was caught just a liiiiittle off guard. But yeah, that's a no on the dot dot dots.
"..." is called Ellipsis. Just a warning, don't Google "hesitation marks" while sitting next to anyone, bad idea. Not that I just did that or anything... I love how release dates are being announced not too far from now. Really excited for the single.
That's right. Ellipsis. Also, someone on the NIN fansite Echoing The Sound just suggested an interpretation of the title that I like. It's like Trent Reznor had second thoughts on actually putting an end to the band/touring back in 08/09. Hence, "hesitation marks."
It's out. http://pitchfork.com/news/51033-listen-nine-inch-nails-came-back-haunted/ Edit: I love it. Imo it continues the sound of The Slip but more realized production-wise. Its got the sexy bounce of some of the Downward Spiral stuff or Into The Void.
Wow, very electro. Julien-K comes to mind. I might be kind of put off if he wrote an album based on how he felt writing a different album 15 years ago. Edit: The Nine Inch Nails soundcloud has posted a high quality version that is also 5:17 in length, which is longer than what I saw earlier. https://soundcloud.com/nineinchnails/came-back-haunted-2013
I really liked the radio version (3:56). I LOVED the extended album version (5:17). Really liking what I'm hearing. It's like an amalgamation of 90's NIN and present day NIN. I wouldn't call it dancy but it's definitely got a groove to it.
Sounds very NIN-esque, I feel like it could have been on at least 2 or 3 of their other records to be honest ^^ With that said, I still like it Some synth were definitely reminescent of 90 NIN and that was cool to hear!
It's an interesting combination of different things for me. The vocal phrasing in the verses remind me of "Somewhat Damaged" from "The Fragile", the beat sounds like some new-and-improved "Pretty Hate Machine" stuff and the lyricism definitely takes me back to "The Slip". EDIT: the guy who made the cover art (and probably the visuals for "Hesitation Marks" as well) also created the fantastic packaging art for "The Downward Spiral" so many years ago.
Yep, same, that was one of the records I was refering to. It's also very similar to some of The Slip stuff if you ask me.
oh my fucking god an arena tour has been announced, with Explosions in the Sky and motherfucking GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR as the openers. fuck. me.
http://consequenceofsound.net/2013/06/nine-inch-nails-announce-north-american-arena-tour/ all the dates here.
It reminds me of everything he's done all at once. I feel each album has a presence. Even the HTDA album. So pumped to hear the rest. This man is a genius.
Awesome song, stuck in my head already. Also, so many good albums this year. AIC, Queens, Black Sabbath and now this.
Ooooh nice, they're playing in Belgium too Pukkelpop is a bit expensive though. I might still attend eheh
Holy fuckballs, this is a very dancable track yet still very NIN-like. Sounds like their very early stuff mixed with Year Zero and The Slip. Loving the sound! EDIT: They're touring with Godspeed? Jesus christ O.O
