DeadEndHipHop nailed it! Especially Myke and Kinge's reaction.
http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/kanye-wests-yeezus-tops-chart-after-aria-mistake-20130624-2orn2.html Yeezus, that's harsh!
Dat comment section. Someone calls Kanye's music "re-hashed" EDIT: on a different note, I've had that synth hook from "Send It Up" in my head all day
Anyone else feel like this is Kanye's "Living Things" as well? The transition from ATS to LT is very similar to MBDTF and Yeezus
I'm surprised this is getting as much negative reaction as it is. It's not a lot, mind you, maybe 50-50, but generally when a Kanye album drops it's universal critical fellatio. This album's been getting the most mixed reviews from fans I've ever seen for a Kanye release. Complete and glowing praise from the press, though, and the contrast between the two is hilarious.
I think it's good that it's polarising. I'm sure that, at the very least, Kanye wants to get reactions out of people whether or not they understand what he's doing.
I don't get the love its getting from critics... I swear these publications get paid fat stacks for the reviews they pump out.
I've been listening to the album much more lately, and I'm gradually liking it much more. "I'm In It" is sick. "Blood on the Leaves" is much better than I initially thought. Many others I enjoy.
It explains how "Black Skinhead" is in the trailer for the new Scorsese movie:
The live version of Black Skinhead... I've heard it about a billion times (but seriously, it has to be a couple hundred times now.) and I'm still not getting sick of it. It's incredible. The studio version... not so much.
Offtopic, but isn't this the second time this year Leonardo has starred as a richer-than-god criminal businessman? Both films adapted from books as well?
Look what I have! I thought EMI were the only ones who used Label Docs, but apparently Def Jam does too...
Didn't like the first one, hopefully the sequel is better. Although WTT had some incredible songs. As an album... meh.
I feel like half this album is really good and half is really bad. I enjoyed On Sight when I first heard it, now I can't stand it.
This isn't the album version, right? The chorus and the screams are different? I see the promotional single has some kind of a ''new mix'' of Black Skinhead, is this it? I like this one much more, so please someone help.
Sorry for double post, but the Black Skinhead video is out, and it's one of the worst videos I've seen in my life. http://www.themaskedgorilla.com/kanye-west-black-skinhead-music-video/
