I saw Pacific Rim Transformers: Clash of the Godzillas in IMAX 3D. Ridiculous special effects. And equally ridiculous plot, but who cares, it's giant robots vs. giant sea monsters. Turn off your brain and enjoy. 7.5/10

Hoping to check out Pacific Rim this weekend. Anyone who doesn't watch this movie for the giant robots versus giant monsters is stupid.

    Only God Forgives - 3/5

Most of the negative reviews of this movie were pretty spot-on I'd say. Very pretty to watch, but no discernable..."point" to the movie, at least upon first viewing. A lot of weird freudian/incestuous symbolism which hints at some sort of deeper meaning, but I can't think of what it could possibly be.

The Hunger Games (2012) - Awesome. Really loved it. So dark. 9.5/10

The Hangover Part III (2013) - Not as funny as the first two but definitely has a more interesting story. It was good. 7.5/10

    THIS. And read it, too.

I watched The World's End yesterday. Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz are my favourite movies, but this.. this was better than both of them. My new favourite film of all time, and the best in the trilogy imo. And that's very fucking hard for me to say.

I started watching it a long time back but the print was so shitty I had to stop. I was thinking about revisiting it just yesterday!

There's a good copy of the Director's Cut on Youtube, I can PM you the link if you like.

Also.. if you read, I highly suggest you buy the book.. it's a ton better than the film.. and the film's insanely good.

I can only assume it's "Coldplay Live 2012". It's a compilation of live shows I do believe, which did appear in theaters momentarily.

Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Awesome. It's funny and never gets boring. I'd say it's on par with Hot Fuzz. The only thing I'm not really crazy about is the ending, but I guess that's because I'm such a The Walking Dead fanboy. I'm gonna piss some people off by saying this, but I prefer Zombieland. :p 8/10

Indie Game: The Movie - Not going to rate it this time, since I watched it several times before, but I'm just prepping myself for the Special Edition DLC on Steam when I hopefully get it tomorrow.

I'm surprised more haven't seen/posted about The Conjuring yet, considering it's been trending on Twitter since its release and everything I've read has been immensely positive - I really need to get out and see it already!

I watched The Conjuring last Friday. It's essentially a more intense version of Insidious. Blood and gore are kept to a bare minimum, so it tends to rely more on mood and atmosphere. Some might take issue with the initially slow pacing, but the film spends a lot of time trying to make you care about the characters, which is noble despite, in my opinion, the film makers not entirely succeeding at it. I recommend it if you're a fan of Insidious, or you're just generally a fan of '70s horror movies like The Exorcist or The Amityville Horror.
