Ethan does like 80% of the work that Rick Rubin gets credit for. Ethan's there every day, Rick shows up once a week or so. A lot of the gear the band uses in the studio is actually owned by Ethan, it's his job to get all the microphone placements on the drum kit and the guitar cabinets just right, he's usually at least helping with the operation of the main console while the band is recording, he helps with all the Pro Tools editing stuff, he's the guy who has to fix stuff when it breaks...he also mixes the audio for a lot of the live performances that are shown on TV.
I'm glad to hear that Ableton's being used by Shinoda for new Linkin Park music. It is a play on words. Mixing boards display numbers.
With the LinkinPark2013 hashtag, wonder if they are really aiming for it to come out this year? Pull a Jay Z and announce the album right before it comes out haha.
Its pretty clear that most of us expect an early 2014 release.. maybe spring 2014 but that hashtag confuses me..
No. Sometimes I wish people would connect the dots.. How on earth is it possible to release something this year when it's clear that they're still playing with the toys, buttons and stuff at the studio..? To release a single and promote an album, the body of work should be at least on it way to be mass produced, a process that seems VERY FAR from here at this point.
More plausible.. Since the music for The Mall OST will unevitably be released by "Linkin Park" , but I don't like to count on it, since there is so little information about it.
To be fair the first signs of LIVING THINGS and pictures just like this with the #LP2012 hashtag came in January 2012, 6 months in advance of release. Realistically a December 2013 release isn't out of the question being only 5 months out. For all we know the album COULD be far more complete than we anticipated.
Oh I agree wholeheartedly with that. But it's also absolutely possible for LP6 to release by the end of this year.
Obviously we aren't getting anything July/August. Whole September Chester is on tour. STP have an EP in the fall. November is LPU13. So, only October and December are left, and seeing STP might release their EP in October, what are the chances a new LP album is coming in Decmber?
