Oh sheesh, sorry for not responding to this. I stopped watching shortly after writing that post - it just didn't carry my interest soon after. I might continue on just with the manga.

Rewatched Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryōiki no Déjà vu (This time with Official English Subtitles.)

It's very good, but it's still confusing as hell. (The End.)

Well, the Official bluray comes with English subs. They're not the best subs, but they're the official ones.

"We've always known the only time Miyazaki will retire for real is when he's dead. Even then, he might be too stubborn for even the icy hands of death to stop. He'll keep releasing stuff like Tupac." Pretty much this

Just saw Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods (in Japanese with English subtitles because the English dub isn't out yet). Pretty good, nothing too special. Though it is cool to see Goku become a god.

I can't complain about that. Anyway, I started watching Tengen Tappa Gurren Lagann. The first half or so was great, but I'm finding the second half a bit too "weird" for my tastes.

I don't remember much of Gurren Lagann since it's been quite a while since I've watched it, but yeah, that sounds about right.

So, did anyone have any favorites this past anime season? Looking forward to any shows coming out next season?
My stand out favorites were Little Busters!, Log Horizon and Golden Time. The only show I'm looking forward to so far is the next season of Chu-2 , and I haven't had a chance to acquaint myself with the other new offerings airing soon. So if anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

I only watched until just over half of Attack on Titan before the bad animation got to me. Then I watched some Kill la Kill but... eh. I've only watched up to ep 6.

The second season of Chu-2 airs on the 10th and is called Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren

Pfft, synopsis. It's Chu-2, that's all the reason I need to watch it.

    SO EXCITE

    Edit:
First ep of Chu-2 Ren was awesome as expected. And yet something felt 'off' about it.

This weekend, I did what for me had long been the unthinkable: I read a yuri manga. I avoided that stuff like the plague for years and years, because I thought it would just be shallow smut. What I got instead - Girl Friends - was a heartfelt coming-of-age story. Highly recommended, and it's clear to me now why it's considered a modern classic. It really should get an anime adaptation.

I've never known anyone looking for smut to go for Yuri. Same with Yaoi and Bara. Anyway Josei Yuri is best Yuri.

I think anyone looking for smut know to look for hentai anyway...

What Jesse said. Yuri/yaoi can have smut, but it isn't all smut.

That said, I'm really enjoying Sakura Trick, in a shallow sort of way.

Watched Ookami Kodomo no Yuki to Ame, otherwise known as Wolf Children. Was great.
