Yeah, but it's fairly certain I think based on some interviews with the video director. It's all but confirmed by the band. Still, SOON!
Pretty sure a tweet from Coldplay giving us hints of the "Magic" video is confirmation enough! Looks like the same hillside Embrace filmed the music video for "Refugees" on! Is there some sort of famous hill in England that I don't know about?
Ummmm. That wasn't the official Coldplay account? I mean, I believe it, but still not official confirmation. I believe in Magic. LP6 could be produced by Paul Epworth, apparently.
^Someone on Twitter pointed out there were 5 ETIAW teasers before the announcement came. And seeing these are coming every day at about the same time, I think we can expect an official announcement and more details during the week. In other news... it's all so DARK! I love it!
I really like the idea of a dark Coldplay album, almost a contrast to the upbeat nature of Mylo Xyloto. That would prove to be real, real interesting.
I wonder how a dark Coldplay would sound like. It's hard for me to imagine. A Rush of Blood is the closest thing I can think of and it's not even close. Also it seems a site has confirmed Magic's debut this week http://www.hitzound.nl/index.php/2-hitzound-blog/945-new-single-releases-week-9
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG THAT'S IN LIKE... THREE HOURS! Apparently, ''Ulaanbaatar'' translated means ''Red Hero''. Wuuuut. HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE
IT'S SO GOOD!!!! Atmospheric Coldplay has me SO EXCITED! I kind of predicted this I guess, a more dark Coldplay, but with electronics. I'm so damned hyped now!
Oh God. A lot to take in right now. If this is the lead single, I can't even imagine what the rest of the album will be like. It's.. the most haunting song I've ever heard, can barely understand a word except for ''In the darkness...''. The ''drop'' is incredible. Such a slow song. I'm really really interested in this album. Gotta listen again. It's still wildly electronic, but I don't mind. I loved MX. Such a dark video too.
I don't know if I'd call it so good. There's so much effect work on his voice that it's hard to understand. I like the atmosphere but there's hardly any music coming from the other band members almost. I can't even hear the bass I am really excited for the new direction and I did still enjoy the song. I will probably end up liking it a lot or loving it....considering it's already stuck in my head EDIT: Upon second listen, okay, the instruments are all more unclose now and I can hear everything
If this song is representative of the album, the entire sound is less about conveying emotion though words, and more about transporting you to a state of mind, about creating a great sonic experience. Yes, it's hard to hear what he's saying, but that's kind of the point. Even so, I doubt that vocal effect will be used for every song.
Yeah I get the point, but I'd still like to hear the lyrics. Like Robot Boy is a very atmospheric song but I can understand everything. This is just a personal opinion. Upon second listen, the song is muuuch better. I'm starting to love this shit
The bass is there. It's easy to hear. It's the guitar and drums. The guitar isn't there, and the drums appear after like... 3 minutes, and then it's just kick drums. Well, it's supposed to be a song that gives you a sonic experience.
The first listen for about a minute really through me off, but it really took me over (I just wish they would have posted lyrics with the video, I can only understand maybe 2 lines). I really can't describe how damn pumped this song has made me for the album.
