Yeah I get the whole "fuck media/politics' vibe with this song. Kinda the vibe we got with MTM.

The crazy thing is, QWERTY seems like it would fit well on this record, judging from the sound of GATS.

I agree that this is a huge element of the song but Rakim specifically calls out the record companies and how labels force bands to change. It makes the statement that labels force creative ideas to change in exchange for a higher profit.
    --------------------
    Can y'all explain
What kind of land is this
When a man has plans of being rich
But the bosses plans are wealthy
    Dirty money scheme
    A clean split is nonsense
    It's insane
    Even corporate hands is filthy
They talk team and take the paper route
All they think about is bank accounts
    Assets and realty

    At anybody’s expense
No shame with a clear conscience
    No regrets and guilt free
They claim that ain't the way that they built me
The smoke screen before the flame

Knowin’ as soon as the dough or the deal peak
They say it's time for things to change
Rearrange like good product rebuilt cheap
Anything if it's more to gain

Drained, manipulated like artists, it's real deep
    Until no more remains
    But I'm still me
    Like authentic hip-hop and rock
    Til’ pop and radio and
    record companies killed me
Try to force me to stray and obey
And got the gall to say how real can real be
    You feel me, we'll see
That green could be to blame

    Or greedy for the fame
    TV or a name
    The media, the game
To me you're all the same
    You're guilty

    ---------------

I think it's extremely clear the underlined portions are specifically about Record Companies and how they force artists to sacrifice their artistic integrity for a higher bottom line profit.

The bold portions are about the media and how they build up artists to be what they should they should be instead of letting the artist decide their own image. The media want to take credit for the success of the artists.

Anyway, I plan to do an in-depth analysis on these lyrics soon, describing what each line purports.

I really wouldn't mind seeing them include QWERTY on LP6, or even have a rerecorded version. It's a great song that would fit will on the record. Also, it would probably be good to ditch the name QWERTY, and rename it Behind Your Lies.

BEHIND YOUR LIES GREED MISERY ALL CAPS
    ...

I also think that would be cool QWERTY on the new album, or any other old song re-recorded. Like a pre-order bonus or something.

As much as I love QWERTY and while there is a certain similarity with GATS, I would hate to see it on the record. A 8 years-old song that we all have already heard on a new LP record? Meh. But it's not like it's gonna happen anyway

About the lyrics, it's true that some parts of Rakim lyrics are directly directed to the labels, but as far as the whole song is concerned, it's certain not solely about Warner. Mike just said in some of those recent interviews that their relation with Warner is great right now and that they're really respectfull and comprehensive of each other, altough that hasn't always been the case in the past.

I'd love to see QWERTY on LP6.

No point, as it's not a Linkin Park song. There are tons of Linkin Park interviews that use background music from other sources.

If "The Hunting Party" is the album's title, what is the "6.14"? A red herring?
