What's wrong with artists collaborating with LP? I can't wait to know who it is and to hear it on the album! Making good music without the help of others; really? I'm sure LP can make good music without the help of others. There's probably just 2 songs with guest artists anyways. If it's Eminem my dream will come true :D Comon, let yourselves get surprised and mind blown. I loved Rakim's rap verse in GATS and don't care it wasn't Mike. We can't judge before we've heard the album. I have a big feeling this will be their best album though! Loved the lyrics in GATS, so much more straight to the point than for example No More Sorrow. Especially the rap verse of Rakim.

    Hello all :)

Back to topic: I hope it's Jared Leto. Would be awesome and it's possible, because of the Carnivoures Tour. :bradwink:

Please explain to me just how the lyrics in "No More Sorrow" do not get straight to the point

If there is even a difference between the two songs in terms of their directness, it's miniscule and completely insignificant at most.

    People thinking in Eminem...

Really would be a dream collab BUT...it´s hard since Mike hinted that the person went to LINKIN PARK studio. And we all know that Eminem does ALL (or at least 98%) of his songs in Detroit. All artists that collab with him have to go there.

Only if maybe he is in LA that would be a chance but it´s hard.

Maybe it's LL Cool J since his nickname/moniker is the G.O.A.T also an album title. Just throwing it out there. If I'm right.....Rakim & LL Cool J, I like the hip hop influence on this album.

When Linkin Park calls Eminem, Eminem has to go to the Linkin Park Studio. :CUMULUS:

Well, Mike said he wanted a "Goat Scream". As far as I'm concerned, rappers don't scream. But yeah, the whole Goat-thingy could be a hint to someone's name.

    I don't get it.

I know Linkin Park has a history of not including -vocal- guests on their studio albums. But I simply don't know how can some be "put off" or even angry with the band having guests on an album when we've enjoyed the songs they've done separately.

A studio album is a thing, and a collaboration is another, sure, but I don't see the connection of how a guest in an album makes a song or said album less interesting or less good.

Mike said on the article "one person can't change the music alone"

So, i think they are making a little group of artists, trying to change the state of rock music.

Only with LP are the two things so separate.

I think that the reason people are so put off is because it's so easy to have a collaboration be calculated and tacky, especially for an act of LP's stature. But we've heard one song with a guest so far and the reception for that has been good.

The band have never really done features on a studio album before now. I know that we don't have much to go by but, in my opinion, they're doing it right so far. :)

This fits with what Mike said in the Pigeonsandplanes article about Rock artists needing to collabore more.

Singer of Refused would be great since Mike has referenced them so much in the past few interviews.

To the people saying "What's wrong with guest artists on an LP album?" Nothing is wrong with it. My sole problem is that the band (mostly Mike) has been so adamantly against the idea, even stating so as recently as last year.

Rakim is great on Guilty All the Same, and I'm sure the other guest/s will be great too and I have no problem with there being guests. I am let down that the band (mostly Mike) has gone back on their word, that is all.
