Prediction: MIke realizes how average of a rapper he is, strives to have guest features on all songs to make up for years of getting dirty with the people spreading the dirt.
I hope with them featuring guests that they have some vocal variety in there too, I would like to see a female vocalist for once on a LP album and Jared Leto would be a a great highlight for a song in the album
I've always liked that LP's music never had to rely on guest vocalists in order to stay relevant and "cutting edge" or whatever. Again, I think that the band are being smart about their choices now but it still feels weird to me, the idea of guest features (reminiscent of a hip-hop or electro-pop album) on what appears to be an all-out rock album. Maybe that kind of shaking-up is what the genre needs, I don't know, but I've never felt and still don't feel that Linkin Park need it If another rock vocalist appears, that could be more of a co-vocalist/"additional vocals" thing rather than a simple guest feature, which is an idea that I'm personally more comfortable with right now. Also, if Leto is a guest vocalist, I'd really love to hear some heavy "The Battle Of One"-esque shit. I've been saying that this needs to happen on a Fort Minor album! Shinoda produces everything, maybe sings a hook or two, but doesn't do any rapping. It'd be glorious.
This. Not to mention that was one of the things that made The Rising Tied great. I know that's neither here nor there, but whatever. And yeah, a female guest would be great.
I can't really disagree because if given the choice of an LP album with no guests and one with guests (knowing nothing about who the guests are previously), I think I'd always go for the latter.
Yeah - and, again, as hardxcore fans, maybe we need a little bit of a shock to the system. Depending on the choice of guests, I might actually be unsure for once about whether or not I like an LP album, whereas I can say that I was basically unfazed by "Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns" Maybe, for once, we will be the people that just don't get it at all
That immediately made me think of Serj Tankian as a possible collab. I really need to stop imagining things ahah But anyway, I'm not as surprised as some of you regarding this other featuring on the album. Only one collab would have been a little random IMO.
THE UNIVERSE ... BREAKING US DOWN Very true. More than three would definitely irk me Hey, 6,500 posts! Only took nearly ten years!
I don't mind, if there is another guest. It just have to sound good . But Eminem wouldn't be my first choice, not a big fan of him. I think, they wouldn't call a female vocalist, when they would play that song live. Unless, Chester don't mind to sing or scream like a girl =P.
That's actually an advantage of a proper guest feature part; it would be compartmentalised and, therefore, easy to work around when the band need to work out what to do live.
!!! And how about that guy, you know, Chino Moreno?! OK, I stop. For real Edit: though having him screaming back and forth with Chester in a chaotic/apocalyptic outro is one of my musical dreams!
You never know. I'd always wanted to hear Chino singing on a Shinoda-produced beat and I got my wish!
No More Sorrow are like Muse lyrics. They're obvious 'they will not control us, we will be victorious' these kind of things 'thieves and hypocrites' well ok. Atleast in Guilty All The Same they get straight to the point by being as obvious as obvious can be by just saying it; the music industry killed me, the media, the game, to me you're all the same, you're guilty etc. no more 'them' or 'they'.
If LP wants to change the state of rock music using collabs, I believe they need to get the absolute biggest names in the industries to make people accept it.
