I got the same vibe too. It looks like a leftover from the LT era artwork (which I'm not a big fan of).
Agreed on the LT-leftover comment about the cover. Definitely not a fan....I don't get why Mike doesn't use his painting abilities more for LP covers, that would be infinitely cooler. Still hyped, of course!

You know, a while back when that YouTube preview of GATS came out, I made a clever offhand comment about how "Hunting Parties kill Living Things for sport." The fact that The Hunting Party is the actual title of the album, and Mike has been on a crusade against "shiny pop music" which is EXACTLY what Living Things was, and the fact that the album cover for this is in the same style of the LT cover and depicts some strong God-life force coming down from above with a bow and arrow, makes me think that my comment really is the kind of attitude the band is taking here. As if maybe they weren't very happy with Living Things themselves, or they were but they are so done with it now that they are killing it off.
These are very nice news, I am super exited. Though I think the cover art looks too much like the Living Things style. The last albums all were so grey, white, black etc., I would have loved a bit more color this time. If the cover would have had this red color scheme from the tour poster I would have been very happy. This would have emphasized the "bloddy" title and would have made the whole thing more special, imo. Still, the music is going to be awesome!
This is a possibility. It would also explain why not many LT songs are played live. I've had to live with the fact that in another of my favorite band's DVD (The Rasmus), they kinda dropped the hint at how much they hated a certain album they made. I might've got the signal wrong but an artist being dissatisfied with one of their efforts is a realistic possibility.
I mean something like this. More color, more "hunting feel", less LT. And the images of you guys all look better than the original too, I think. Not that cold color scheme as the albums before.

Agreed 110%. Where's Nish's post? 'Member totally calling some aspect of the album'. I fucking love puzzles. LT sticker > LT cover. No. - The covers you guys are making are good, but I'm liking the original the most (which I'm glad). I really love the ''cold color scheme'' as someone said.
None of LP's covers are even remotely similar. HT- spray paint stencil Meteora- picture of graphiti artist MTM-picture of band sillouette ATS-Minimalist flare of light LT-Freezing/ Burning crumbling head and shoulder bust THP-Jagged/ Bellows of smoke with a bow and arrow being pulled back I mean seriously anyone whose even remotely studied art like myself or say Mike Shinoda could instantly distinguish the clear differences in artistic mediums/styles.
