Yeah. Me too. I was literally jumping on my seat thinking we got previews of the songs so early and then I realized it was Loudwire telling us what they thought. Pffft. Now I'm all excited for nothing. >.< That said, this week has been awesome. I want new songs already! I remember getting the 30 seconds previews for LITE, IMR and IBG from Living Things.
Album art, release date, song titles, song descriptions and impressions...it's all becoming pretty real. This is my third album cycle on this forum. It's been a lot of fun each time.
Above anything, I'm happy the record seems to have a more cohesive soundscape Now, hopefully Mike will step up his game in regards to his rap flow/lyrics!
It's so obvious he still has it in him. He's inspired by people like Rakim, and his verse on the Recharged version of I'll Be Gone was so much better than anything he did on Living Things. That's the kind of speed and flow I'd love to see from him. And, if not, at least step up the lyrics. Comparing verses in With You with the bridge in Burn It Down is mind blowing.
I'm super hyped after this week. I'm expecting Until It's Gone as the last track of the record, some sort of conclusion or eplogue, just what The Messenger was for ATS but a little more heavier. And I want to hear Rebellion,so...GIVE US SNIPPETS
Good to know we get at least one soft song, and holy shit Wastelands sounds awesome can't wait to hear it
3 out of the 5 songs have rap/hip-hop verses which makes me happy. Based on title/descriptions (which we know mean SO MUCH /sarcasm) Keys To The Kingdom sounds like a front runner for me.
Yep, I'm also a big fan of his verse in the IBG remix. The one in the STB remix is pretty sick too. If Mike is delivering verses at least as good as those, I'll be satisfied. In a dream situation, anything as insane as the Reading My Eyes flow would fit so well with the style of music they're going with, and it would be damn refreshing to hear. But as I said, I'm dreaming there ^^'
I'm guessing Until It's Gone will be the 2nd single since it's already mixed and appears to be one of the softer songs.
So that "Until It's Gone" chorus sounds really creative and original. But on the plus side, this is starting to sound like a really great, energetic release. I have no preference for any one "era" of LP sounds over another, but I'm fairly excited to see what they're going to unleash here. I'm really looking forward to hearing that Wastelands breakdown - I'm imagining early Sevendust.
