If you guys wanna avoid this type of response, just answer the fucking question instead of being douche bags. It doesn't take very long to help someone out and type in a song title.
While I'm here, I feel the need to clarify that SPOILER >> only users with red usernames in their profiles are actually LPA Administrators. << /SPOILER
Yeah, and in addition to the above "spoiler", I also need to clarify that I am the only real Derek on here and that anybody using my signature, or avatar or claiming they're an LPA Admin when they don't have a red name is doing so as a 'joke'. It's apparently meant to confuse people, but unless you see my name in Red it's not me.
As I've told you, that was actually an unintended side-effect because, when we first adopted these profile elements, we weren't thinking about newbies at all.
I know. I just need to make sure people know what's up. To a newbie this could look really confusing or bad .
To be fair. It takes virtually the same time to look on the internet what an acronym means than typing up a question. Just my two cents. Internet made us lazy and now we're lazy at being lazy.
True, but IBG could stand for many things, such as...Irritable Bowel Gas. Most people wouldn't automatically link it to a Linkin Park song.
The mix on LT is just awful. But IMG, dear lord, they need to remix at least that one. I would love to hear Owen Pallet's contribution for at least more than 5 seconds, but nooooooooo. I would also like to distinctly like to hear the acoustic guitar on Castle of Glass, it's just so faint. I never even knew that part existed before watching the music video.
Yeah, I agree. That's the main reason - perhaps the only reason - that I don't like "The Catalyst" as much as the other songs on the album.
But then again the MOH mix wasn't too good either. Chester's vocals were too clean and was a bad contrast to Mike's heavily effected vocals. It felt like a demo rather than a different mix. Must've been rushed for the game I suppose. I wish the bass was a little up in the mix and the piano was up just a tad, but hey, it isn't that big of a deal
Most certainly a pre-mixing demo, as the second time Hahn scratches on that track, it's entirely different from the album version. It was likely provided early.
That was actually documented in MOATS around the 23:30 mark. When Mike has the guys all together 1 month before the deadline he says "a mix is due to (EA) for that song in particular to put in the (game) mastered, done, put it in the (game) it is over, in a week." "EA" and "game" are censored but you can read his lips. So yeah, they did seem to be kind of flustered and rushed in mixing The Catalyst for MOH.
I will admit that the mixing on LT sucks mostly. However, I think the songs on LT are very good. LT is one of my favorite LP albums. I know tons of LP fans hate on LT a lot and say it's their worst album, etc, but I think Meteora deserves that spot. LT is very good, IMO. Not a song on it that I don't like.
I did a presentation on Linkin Park's music evolution for a Gen Ed a while back, and the thing my professor noticed was that the newer albums suffered from "The Loudness Wars." **Disclaimer: Don't look this up if you want to ruin modern music, seriously it sucks It's a industry-wide issue, not just something LP has fallen into. The best song to demonstrate is One Step Closer vs Castle of Glass, just listen to how "loud" the guitars are in comparison to the drums and bass in Castle of Glass compared to a OSC, even though that song is supposed to be much louder and harder. The point is that LP's mixing issues are probably 50% self inflicted and 50% the label wanting specific mixing in terms of what is loud and what is not.
I tend to only notice this when it's extremely noticeable, such as in RHCP's Californication and Metallica's Death Magnetic, those albums just sound fucking awful (both produced by Rick Rubin BTW).
