It's funny, there's quite a lot to cover in this episode, but, ironically, I don't feel like it progressed the story as much as I wanted it to. A lot great moments (everything related to the Lannisters was great) but I didn't really care for Daenerys' story, aside from Daario's badass moment. Luckily, there wasn't much emphasis on it this episode so I guess I shouldn't really care that much to begin with.
Daenerys's plot is dragging a little too much now. All she's been doing for the last 2 seasons is going from city to city and conquering/freeing the slaves. I mean c'mon... give us something new! Losing a little interest in that plot. Also these might be little nitpicks but how: Is Daenerys managing to feed and shelter this huge army? They have been traveling for ages now! How the hell did the Meereen people hear her speech from so far away? You'd need a loudspeaker or two to make that work Did Daenerys actually go through the trouble of putting all the slave shackles in wooden cylinders to catapult at them? Seems a bit contrived and the whole plan could have gone either ways too lol.
She has a huge road to take to get from where she was at the start of the series to a legit queen to be reckoned with. And to be fair, this is the progression thus far: Season 1: Becomes wed to a war tribe's king, widows and becomes mother to 3 dragons. Season 2: Tries to buy a boat through a merchant prince, gets one. Season 3: Purchases and liberates a slave army, frees a slave city. Liberating a slave city is less than a season old at this point. And if you really want to complain, the events that are occurring now were actually a part of book 3. Quite a few events were. The purple wedding was in book 3, actually.
Spoilers include comparing book to the show, as per the spoiler policy thread.... Just saying. (or maybe that was another forum...) Anyway, good episode. Oberyn continues to be awesome. And I gotta feel for Pod, he's such a good guy. Poor lad. Damn Petyr is an ass, but he''s probably the smartest and most ambitious of anyone who plays the Game of Thrones...
Comparing chronology for an event that already happened isn't in any way a spoiler. And I checked the rules, and no it's not. The events still happened.
I agree with you, and I've read the books also. I don't think they're spoilers either but I thought the rules here stated they were not allowed. I confused it with another site.
I prefer the look of the new Daario as the previous one reminded me too much of the Faceless Man who helped Arya; however, I agree the original had the swagger for flirting with Daenerys. That being said, I feel this is the one that Emilia Clarke shares better chemistry with.
No wonder! I was wondering where that long haired dude from last season go and who is this new dude hanging with Khaleesi?! I like the new guy. I wasn't buying the old one as a 'fighter'. Looked too much like a model.
