Brett Dalton (Ward) is probably the funniest cast member out of the group. His puns in Twitter are so cheese-tastic.
The last few episodes have been INSANE (in a good way). It's really not for the casual Marvel fan to be honest. Not to pre-judge but most people who say "is it good" probably won't like it because the more hardcore fans are already watching it. But if you love the movies and know a bit more than the average person when it comes to the Marvel universe (both heroes and villains) you'll enjoy it. Starts off slow but with the recent events in Capt America: TWS, the show has upped the ante in a major way.
I think the casual fan could enjoy it. I wasn't familiar with most of the characters previous to watching the show and I dig the series! And I think this series still works not just independent of the movies but also independent of Marvel. Like if the show had no Marvel brand attached to it what so ever, i'd still enjoy watching
Agreed - that's why most casuals don't watch. Too many comments on IGN's reviews of these more recent episodes have been "Wait, I thought Coulson died?". Unless you've been a Marvel/comics kid and/or are invested in the universe Marvel Studios is creating (which includes having seen ALL the films + One-Shots), this show isn't the best thing on TV. But if you do fit that criterium, Tuesday nights are exciting. I find myself more interested in the characters due to that level of interest in the universe prior to the films and reading the comics when I was a kid. Opening of 4/22's episode: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=680318018699716&saved&linkId=8013272 ----- 4/22 edit: HOLY SHIT. Some great, great stuff in tonight's episode: 1) Bruce Banner reference and Coulson's jab at it - lulz. 2) Finally seeing Audrey AKA The Cellist, even with a reference to taking a trip up the coast a la Stark. 3) Fitz-Simmons stuff is getting there... 4) Simmons being a Doctor Who fan!!! 5) Someone finally seeing Ward for who he is, and Skye at that! 6) May and Maria Hill showdown incoming!
Not quite as good as the last few episodes but not bad either. The preview for next weeks episode looks pretty sick though.
You missed 1) Triplett being the grandson of a Howling Commando (most fans assume Gabe Jones, who Cap saved in The First Avenger). 2) Skye's given name being Mary Sue. (Level 99 Writer Trolling)
Ward killing Koenig was totally not cool though. It's like Ward is the guy who kills all the special guest stars (Brad Dourif, Saffron Burrows and now Patton Oswalt).
Haha! The way this show is written makes me really care about Skye. It also makes me want to see someone put a bullet in Ward's brain.
Yeah. Should've been cooler. I know that he's the efficient badass and all but I was expecting something far more grisly than we got
