A masquerade, at least in French, can refer to one fucked up situation, implying some hypocrites. Like, for example, some would accuse politicians of playing a "masquerade game" if that makes sense.

So yep, from how I'm used to perceive this word, a title like "The Final Masquerade" has this pretty agressive meaning of "It's the last time you will make those fucked up shits!". But of course this is pure speculation, and now watch out the track ending up as a 1-min interlude, or as a super mellow ballad

I am like really loving the artwork so far.

 

Interesting that LP have confirmed the title "Wastelands" and not "Wastelands of Today" like one report stated when the sample songs went round. Maybe the chorus of the song includes Wastelands of Today as lyrics?

Yeah, actually a couple of sites wrote the title as 'Wastelands of Today' .. I'm glad it stood as Wastelands only.

I figured it was better to wait on that one since it was posted back in November and there was no guarantee that Tom would actually be on the album. I was worried I might get Ethan in trouble if that news blew up that far in advance. But yeah, that's Tom's guitar that he used for a bunch of RATM stuff.
