I'm going to go ahead and post my Unpopular Opinion anyway: I really hope "A Line In The Sand" is absolutely nothing like "The Messenger". I think A Thousand Suns was a brilliant album.. but I absolutely hate "The Messenger". I've literally left it out of iTunes, off every iPhone/iPod I own, everything.. yuck to The Messenger. LoL. (To be fair though.. I hate the recording itself more than the actual song.. I wish I could get past it, but I spend the vast majority of my time in studios, and I just can't handle how bad the vocal production/recording is on that song. I hear artifacts from the vocal-tuning software everywhere, the mic is distorting all over the place -> causing even more vocal-tuning artifacts.. just can't get past it enough to actually like the song.)
But it wasn't two months before release! Get yourself together and stop trolling! anyway, I'm really hyped for this album now... Up until now I was like "okay, new album, we'll get some cool songs, whatever", but when I saw Tom Morello and those track titles, I am really excited. It looks like they're trying to make rock relevant again...
yeah, more album news! tracklist sounds promising. gives me kind of a experimental vibe.....kinda like a thousand suns. june 13th can`t come soon enough (release date in germany )
Super awesome! Certainly better than the leaked track list from last week! If there is an instrumental on this album (which I do hope there will be) I really hope it's long one. 9+ minutes, Metallica style. Even if it's just to troll the fans that dislike instrumentals. To ignore a 9+ minute song would be to disregard at least a quarter of the album make it so LP!
Ugh I don't like Tom Morello's voice at all. The only feature I'll probably like is Rakim, the other three sound awful (but isn't Daron Malakian just playing guitar?).
? I don't think anyone here thought Tom Morello was doing vocals. He's doing guitar dude, that's what he's known for. Haven't you even heard of Rage Against The Machine before?
You realize he's more than likely playing guitar, right? He's hardly known for being a vocalist. See: Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave for his work.
Alright, thanks. Yeah I've heard of Rage Against The Machine, but I've never really listened to them. But their vocalists turns me off. It's so bad it ruins all their songs.
Then Audioslave is for you. They only have 3 albums. Chronological order would probably be a good choice.
Audioslave is great. Funny how they're the same band, but with a different vocalist. The two bands are so different! Though a lot of the first album sounded a lot like Rage. BTW, Chris Cornell is fucking awesome.
I think War, The Summoning or Final Masquerade will be the instrumental/interlude. Even if I hope that War is a real song- The name is promising heaviness
All of this I agree with. Some reviewer put it nicely by saying they were finding their own sound while keeping to their origins as they went through each release. It's a shame they split three albums in. Them and Temple Of The Dog are my favorite Chris Cornell acts.
Maybe. I think Audioslave at it's best is still as good as or better than Soundgarden. Still love both bands
