Oh no! ---------- Since my experience with Minutes to Midnight, I've had to prelisten to the albums so I can give my reactions the same time as everybody else. I tried waiting for my physical MTM package and the album not only got backordered, it ended up arriving a whole month later. And given how mail works in Venezuela, it's best for me to order an album and ship it through a private company and not directly, but that affects the time as well, which is about two weeks or 15 days. Living things also arrived a whole month later. So in fewer words, yes, I will prelisten.
Proably just one or two songs like WAR or something. But I gave up on LT last year and was disappointed, but I expect a good album this time around. Hopefully I can wait because I get out of school 4 days before it comes out!
Will definitely get it when it leaks but I'm thinking of not listening to UIG when it drops this Monday.
Why do you do this like that? I would find it more logical to hear UIG but don't prelisten the album. Because the leak/prelistening will be shortly before the release while now you have plenty of time left, which UIG could sweeten.
Nah man, listening to the leak kills the experience. Wait it out, go to the store, buy it, feel it, look at it, take it home, put it in the CD player and give it your undivided attention. Makes it an experience. Unless the music sucks. Than you just wasted 2.5 hours
I will listen to UIG, and I have already listened GATS, but I won't listen to other songs until I receive the album. I have received LT 3 days before it's release date abd I hope it will be the same for The Hunting Party. Hope it will do well this time for you.
I was thinking of not listening to the album not to fuck up the end of my school year. School ends June 13. But those 4 days would kill me.
Unfortunately not because again, I have to use a special shipping service. And said service requires me to send my packages to Miami so they'll be forwarded here, and that takes a minimum of two weeks. Sending stuff directly increases dramatically the risk of things getting lost.
I listened to GATS and i will listen at Monday to UIG... After that, I will listen to THP when i get my physically copy.
I will definitely listen to the leak. Or maybe I'll wait, but not for the phyical release. As damn weird as it might sound, I could potentially wait for an early morning when there are all those cool colors in the sky because of sunrise. How weird, but I can promise you that discovering/ listening to a good music record in these conditions feels incredible! Well, that if the record is good. And if sky ain't too cloudy.
Well I remember when I received ATS, (I never listened to any leaks). I listened to the full album one time (physical copy) then I watched the making of video which was good. It was cool because some sounds I got confused and the making of video cleared it up so then I listened to it again. It was nice
I'm going to wait until I get my physical copy. This is the first LP album cycle I'm experiencing, so I want it to be special in some form. THIS! For me, the experience is most times better than the album itself. Oh, I have some cool memories of myself listening to "Minutes to Midnight" from beginning to end in these conditions. It's not that weird, actually.
Cool! My first experience actually waiting and getting excited for a Linkin Park studio album was "Minutes To Midnight", but, before that, I'd been on LPA waiting for "Collision Course" as well.
June 17th is also when i go see Arctic Monkeys, so it's gonna be a good day. Even though they will most likely have am iTunes stream a week before and it comes out earlier in the EU. I'll hear everything I can before it comes out, then I'll buy the album and play it the whole way to the concert.
No, I don't think so. But maybe I ask one of my relatives in Canada to buy one for me and give me when she comes to Iran. However I can't wait that much, so I will listen to leaked version.
