But LP also let LPA and other fan sites legally distribute a HQ MP3 via forum/torrent/video/etc. So it was still abnormal for LP and radio in general.
Goes without saying, but I gotta hand it to all of you who will be getting out of bed at ungodly hours to hear the premiere. Don't forget to take your "just got out of bed to hear 'Until It's Gone'" selfies! #UIGSelfies
Come to think of it, most of my favorite LP songs are when it's just Chester/and or Mike singing with no rapping (BTH, WID, ND, RU, etc). I wonder if that'll continue with UIG. If the 15 second snippet is anything to go by, I think it will. I really like how well the synths blend in with the rest of the instruments. Instead of it being too much, it adds to it while still being able to hear each individual instrument at the same time. Sounds like it was done pretty well.
Excitement over 9000! Just not sure why they're premiering it over a radio.. it's really terrible quality. Like less than 120kbps I'm sure. I hope the song releases online very shortly after in 320.
it is so intresting. we got 3 reviews of the song and a 15 sec preview and i still have no idea what the full song will sound like
Later today: "It was okay... not what I was expecting." "OMFG that was AMAZING!!!!!!! LULZ I'm SO EXCITED" "I LOVED IT! OLD LP is BACK!" "Real visceral, eh?"
There are some decent 120 kbps out there. There are also some horrible 320 kbps out there. The kbps alone doesn't tell you that much (sadly). At least not when it comes to ripping. Nevertheless, I agree. The quality on radio stations are in general pretty bad. Fortunately, the M4A (iTunes) will be released within a couple of hours, or at the latest, a day after. I guess we'll also have the Spotify release a couple of minutes after the premiere over radio, which will be in way better quality.
Even though the quality is pretty low, you gotta love the potential this song has! Chester sounds as good as ever.
